Mechanics - Session 1

“Good morning,” Geordi said cheerfully as the students assembled around the main campfire, “I’m Lieutenant Commander Geordi LaForge, you may address me as either Commander LaForge or Professor LaForge I have no preference to which title you use. This session you will be learning about Mechanics.” he explained, “and this course will be pratical to help get an understanding of the discipline. If you haven’t had any experience with this field there is no need to worry. I will be providing background information to each project that we complete. It won’t be complusory to read the information but if it helps then by all means do so. I will also be available after class if you want to discuss anything with me,”

He paused slightly before continuing, “we won’t be starting any projects until next week but for today’s lesson I’d like to do general introductions. So could you please tell me your name, class, one interesting fact about you and what experience you’ve had with any aspect of Mechanics,”

"I'm Jaina, I'm a sophomore. And I was up very early this morning," she said. That was interesting, right? "I'm a pilot and have always been fixing things, up to and including ships."

"Zack Addy, I'm a senior, River and I built a hovering robot with a laser while we were small children."

Geordi nodded, "Was that your first time building a robot?"

"I'm Luke, I'll be a senior, and um, I'm her uncle," he said, pointing to Jaina.

He was still getting used to that, yeah. "I'm a pilot and mechanic. Mostly droids and farm equipment," he continued, "but I can also make lightsabers."

"Yasutora Sado," he introduced himself. "Everyone...calls me Chad. Sopho...Junior now? Or not until fall? I dunno, anyway, I'm Mexican-Japanese, which I guess is interesting? An' I don't have much experience with mechanics, but I really kinda wanna learn."
