Hey guys, I moved the meeting on campus so that I could post this flyer.

HOMECOMING 2005: Come As You Aren't

King and Queen nominations will be taken tomorrow and Tuesday. Any student, teacher, or staff member is eligible. The list will be posted Wednesday, and at that time people can decline nominations if they want (losers). Campaigning can begin at any time.

As you all know, the theme for the Dance itself is "80s". In honor of the most popular club at FH (detention) and tying into the overall Homecoming theme of "Come As You Aren't", we have a motto for the dance...

Dear Mr. Vernon:
We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it is we did wrong, but we think you're crazy for making us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basket case, a princess, and a criminal. Does that answer your question?

TICKET SALES: Who can do them and pull together a list next week? Literally, do them. I'll be getting my nails done.

KING AND QUEEN: Anyone want to crown them? I don't want to chip my nails.

OTHER BUSINESS: Suggestions?

[OOC: Someone should be taking over Lilly, and I already arranged for someone to post the dance/field day because the date set by the mods didn't work for me so that's been all set, but I'll take care of King/Queen noms and all the Field Day set-up before I leave so someone isn't stuck with it. I don't know if New!Lilly will want to run Homecoming, but DEATH agreed to be back-up anyway. I'll let you know. Thanks guys, it's been fun. *sniff*]

"Yay! And perhaps there can be matching rings and superpowers involved? Be the Wonder Bad Hair Twins? Mix the eightiesness with weird superheroness?" Rory asks hopefully.

"I would be so into matching rings," Angela says enthusiastically. "But what superpowers would come from bad eighties hair? All I can think of is the ability to destroy the ozone layer, and that would suck as a superpower."

"True," Rory muses. "We could shoot mousse at bad guys, and blind them. Like Spiderman with his web."

[ooc: There aren't any Spiderman characters here, right?]

"That would be awesome. Or we could shoot flames out of hairspray canisters," Angela says slowly. "So we'd be, like, the Breakfast Club, except with superpowers. Marty could, I don't know, curse people to death as Bender, and Logan could... she wrinkles her face. "I guess super-strength?"

"Yeah!" Rory says enthusiastically. "And Camilla, as Anthony Michael hall, could be like...our ringleader. The one we report to, who plans all our escapades and hides our identites from the media!"

[ooc: Resisting calling Camilla the "Charlie to our Angels"...]

Angela laughs. "I am so totally in love with that idea, I can't even tell you. Especially because I think we're four of the only people at this school who don't have real superpowers ~~unless you count whining, moping, being generally self-destructive or killing people for money~~."

She leans over to Marty. "Are you up for it?"

[OOC: We are totally on crack. And I know Marty is actually not here right now.]

"Hey now, I tried out to be that big bug's sidekick, and I'll have you know that he was very impressed with my super highlighting powers," Rory laughs.

[ooc: We really are. It's like �über-crack.]

"You can do hair?" Angela asks, lazily inspecting Rory's brunette locks. "Hey, could you touch mine up? I'm getting roots."

"Yeah, I'm good with hair," Rory says, laughing. "But I meant highlighting like...with a pen. I made a pro/con list for the 'talent' portion of it."

She inspects a lock of her hair. "I've never actually dyed or highlighted my hair, though I did do my friend Lane's once. Yours looks good, though. What's your natural color?"

"So good study skills are, like, the key to the sidekick gig," Angela laughs. "I would not have guessed that, like, ever."

She tugs at her own hair. "It's ... kind of a boring light brown? I started dying it a year ago."

[OOC: I am not actually sure of Claire Danes' natural color.]

"Hey, me neither. But he was deeply impressed," she laughs.

"And I could never pull off a color like that. I've been told I'd make a good blonde, though. But I deal with enough 'Snow White' references - I'm not about to give people a chance to run with 'Goldilocks.'"

[ooc: I have no idea either, but I would guess it's light brownish, since I've seen her with that color more than any other.]

Angela tilts her head. "I could see you as blonde, maybe a really light white-blonde to play up your eyes. But I can see why you get the fairy tale stuff."

[OOC: I think blonde Rory would look like Winona Ryder in "Edward Scissorhands, but Ed is enrolled here, so...]

Rory rolls her eyes. "Yeah, but I think I'd end up washed-out, too, since I'm so pale."

[ooc: Alexis Bledel actually did a movie awhile ago called DysEnchanted where she played Goldilocks, and she DID look like Winona! Hee.]

"Not necessarily. We'd just need to find the right shade." Angela laughs. "I'm, like, this hair dye evangelist."
