New Kid Registration and Check-In - Open Tent Outside the Dorms - All Day Friday

Well, the office was gone, but apparently that didn't mean that the office drones had time off. They were in an open tent outside the dorms processing new students bright and early on Friday morning.

It was a veritable paperwork conga line as the human-looking members of the staff did their thing, along with Fred Trooper, Bucky T. Squirrel, Venus, Bob Gremlin and Roz. You might even see the tech support kitten out and about, trying to keep the computers running. Robert Goulet had a family reunion to go to and couldn't make it.

[OOC: New students, check in here! Wait for OCD! OCD and pie up. Have at it! General sketchy idea of how the dorms are set out.]

Success! Eye contact and even a smile and a word!

"So. I'm Warren. New here?"

Poor Prue had been out of high school so long she didn't know when someone was trying to flirt with her.

"I'm Prue. And yep, brand new. From San Francisco." she said. Okay actually from a heavenly plane but before that, San Francisco.

"Yeah, I just got here myself. San Francisco, huh? I love it out there." Warren had never been to San Francisco. "With the street cars and the . . . um . . . rice."

"Yes. The rice is good." she said, trying not to laugh. This kid was so awkward and cute. "Where are you from Warren?"

People got those "trying not to laugh" expressions around Warren all the time. He was completely oblivious to them. "Little town called Stuckeyville, Ohio," he said "Stuckeyville" as though she ought to have heard of it.

"I have to admit I've never heard of it." she said. "But I'm sure it's nice."

"Really? But . . . it got five stars in the Small Town America guide. . . . It's the home of the world's first and only bowling alley lawyer!"

Okay, now Prue did laugh. "Bowling alley lawyer?"

"Well, you know, he owns a bowling alley and he's a lawyer. So his law practice is actually in the bowling alley . . ." He was losing it, that tenuous grasp on cool. He flailed to get it back. "He's a really good friend of mine, actually. Oh yeah. We go waaaaaay back."

Prue giggled again. "Does your bowling ally owner slash lawyer get a lot of business?"

"Oh yeah, he's the best lawyer in town. Real stand-up kind of guy, too. He helped me out when I had a little 'run-in' with the law, too." Oh, that might not have been the best thing to say. "I mean, you know, the time I got caught."

And now she would think he was a felon. Nice, Cheswick, real nice.

"And the bowling alley's really busy, too!"

"Hold on. You've had a run-in with the law?" asked Prue, raising an eyebrow. This kid did not look the type. "What'd you do?"

Warren shook his head. "It was nothing. I mean, really, all I did was bring a keg to a party, and this kid fell off his bike riding home. . . ."

"That's pretty badass Warren." said Prue. Yeah, she was screwing with him but it was kind of fun. "I'm glad that lawyer helped you out."

"I know, really? I could have been sent to juvie! I might have ended up someone's bitch!"

His voice rose to something ever so slightly hysterical on the last word. Woah, there buddy, you just basically proclaimed to this girl that you're 'bitch-material'. He cleared his throat and tried to get that cool back again.

"Well, I mean, probably not, but they've got some real whackos in juvie, you know?"
