fandomhigh | Fandom High Graduation Ceremony Class of 2007 Part I

The sun was shining high in the sky above the front lawn (not that this would matter to certain members of the audience since there was a nice awning and shaded pathways). A stage was set up with a podium and several seats for the administration and guests. Off to the side of the stage, a guitar for musical performances.

In front of the stage, blue and gold chairs were set for the largest graduating class in Fandom High history (not that it was a tough record to achieve), and to either side of those chairs were bleachers for students, family, friends, alumni, and residents of the town of Fandom who wanted to wtiness this event.

It was a beautiful day for a graduation.

Dawn took her seat and had both a camera and a box of tissues. She didn't know a lot of the senior class, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to show up.

Sam took a seat beside Dawn, with his own camera and an extra pack of tissues, just in case.

Dawn spotted the tissues, "I'm not that bad..."

"You say that now. But then the music's going to start and everyone's going to be getting their diplomas, and the water works will be inevitable," Sam replied.

"I have a box of my own," she pointed out. Yeah, she'd miss people, but it wasn't like this was next year.

"Well, maybe I'll use the tissues then," Sam replied, feigning sadness. "Who knows, I might find myself getting a little teary."

"So not fair," she elbowed him, "And if you do, you can have some of my tissues."

"I don't think I'm going to start leaking that badly," he said, before adding, "Maybe next year."

She squeezed his hand. "Hey, you could hate every single inch of my guts by next year."

"I don't really see that happening," Sam said. "But even if I do, I bet I'll still be sad to see you go."

"Unless I've wished fiery and painful vengeance on you, I'll be just as sad to be going," she told him.

Sam nodded. "Luckily, that's a whole year from now, so we don't need to start thinking about it just yet. Today, we get to focus on all the poor people who really do have to leave."

"And all the poor families," Dawn nodded, "but at least there's no giant demon mayor snake like Buffy had at her graduation."

"There was a giant demon what?"

"Mayor snake?" Dawn told him. "Um, actual ascended demon, not one of the usual hybrids. Ate the old principal, not that I was allowed to go."

And not that she was bitter.

"He ate the principal? Yeah, we're definitely not allowed to have anyone like that here," Sam said. "You didn't get to go? That sucks."

"So I heard," she grumbled, "and no, I guess especially not here, though Snyder was kind of a dick, from what I heard. Not that it makes it okay that he got eaten by a giant demon snake, but...y'know what? Nevermind. And no, Buffy said it would be too dangerous for my mom and I to show up, so we stayed away."

Dean spotted Dawn and Sammy and made his way over to join them. "This seat taken?"

"Nope," she moved her purse, "Come to say goodbye and all that stuff?"

"Have to cheer on my fellow Seahorses," Dean said with a grin, settling in beside her.

"But you still have your shirt on," she teased. "Is that allowed?"

"Formal occasion," Dean said without missing a beat. "The shirtlessness comes later. Also last night."

"I'm sorry I missed it," she grinned at him.

"Me too. You probably could've got Sammy into the spirit of the thing."

"Sam didn't take his shirt off?" Dawn was a little surprised about that, but happy, too. Because, well, her Sam.
