The sun was shining high in the sky above the front lawn (not that this would matter to certain members of the audience since there was a nice awning and shaded pathways). A stage was set up with a podium and several seats for the administration and guests. Off to the side of the stage, a guitar for musical performances.

In front of the stage, blue and gold chairs were set for the largest graduating class in Fandom High history (not that it was a tough record to achieve), and to either side of those chairs were bleachers for students, family, friends, alumni, and residents of the town of Fandom who wanted to wtiness this event.

It was a beautiful day for a graduation.

Chloe found a seat and made sure that all of the settings on her video camera were correct. It was kind of hard to believe that it had been a year since her own graduation.

Jacob spotted someone he recognized and made his way over to her. "Miss Sullivan, how lovely to see you again!"

"Mr. Gavin, hi! It's good to see you too," Chloe said, grinning. "Can you believe Jake is graduating?"

"I almost can't," Jacob grinned back. "I had nearly given up hope. But I suppose all that was needed was a very special school. How have you been?"

"I've been all right. Trying to adjust to life in the real world isn't as easy as people make it sound sometimes."

"The real world can be tricky like that," Jacob said sympathetically. "Are you working in media?"

"As a matter of fact, I am. I'm slowly but surely working my way up through the reporting ranks of The Daily Planet," Chloe said proudly. "It's kind of a dream come true."

"Congratulation. I remember seeing your school newspaper. Anyone who can make my son do regular good work on that certainly has the stubborness needed to get to the top in the business," Jacob said with a smile.

"I've had my stubbornness commented upon before, but usually not in a complimentary way," Chloe said, laughing. "And Jake is capable of really good work. He just needs a really good reason, like a really good mocha."

Jacob sighed, but looked amused. "I would prefer it if I didn't actually have to bribe him to do his job. But I suppose since Krycek is joining us, he'll be working with his bribe, in a manner of speaking."

"Yeah, anything I can make Jake do, Krycek can make him do even easier. He's definitely going to be an asset to your company," Chloe said helpfully, hoping that might prolong his inevitable death.

"Hey, Sullivan," Anders said on his way to his seat. "Imagine meeting you here."

"Yes, who would have thought that we'd bump into each other here," Chloe said, smiling. "It's good to see you."

"It's actually good to see you too, Sullivan," Anders replied, his tone genuine. "Whose guest are you?"
