Music is Love: Friday, Third Period

Lorne sits on stage.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Cats and Kittens, Gremlins of all ages... Today is our last class."

Lorne takes out a hanky and dabs at the corners of his eyes.

"As you know our final competition was last week to decide once and for all WHO is worthy of the title of FANDOM IDOL. And after a record setting 12 votes I have the answer to that question..."

Lorne holds up an envelope

"RIGHT HERE! Are you thrilled? Are you intrigued? Do I look good in these pants? All these questions will be answered... Right after this short break."

Lorne burst out laughing. "Kidding! First you have to do your last performance for me. And as I *handwavily* mentioned in my message to you all earlier, your final assignment is your closing number. The big song. The one your audience is waiting for. The one that signals that this is your last encore before you go backstage and shag like mad with the hotties that your roadies have provided for you."

Lorne clears his throat. "Not that I would ever do that. Or endorse it. Nope. Not at all."

He steps down off the stage and kicks his feet up on the table. "C'mon kids. Sing for me one more time."

[Wait for the OCD is up! Please tell me your grade for the course in the OOC notes. Thanks again for being such an awesome class!]

When it was Naomi's turn she got up and sang:

"He said please come to Boston
For the springtime
I'm stayin' here with some friends
And they've got lots of room
You can sell your paintings on the sidewalk
By a cafe where I hope to be workin' soon
Please come to Boston
I said no, boy won't you come home to me

(And) I said, ramblin' boy
Why don't you settle down
Boston ain't your kind of town
There ain't no gold
And there ain't nobody like me
I'm the number one fan
Of the man from Tennessee

He said, please come to Denver
With the snowfall
We'll move up into the mountains
So far we can't be found
And throw I love you echos
Down the canyons
And then lie awake at night
Until they come back around
Please come to Denver
I just said no boy won't you come home to me

(And) I said, ramblin' boy
Why don't you settle down
Denver ain't your kind of town
There ain't no gold
And there ain't nobody like me
I'm the number one fan
Of the man from Tennessee

Now that drifter's word
Goes round and round
And I doubt if it's ever gonna stop
But of all the dreams
He's lost or found
And all that I ain't got
He's still needs to lean to
Somebody he can sing to

He said please come to L.A.
To live forever
A California life alone
Is just too hard to build
I live in a house that
Looks out over the ocean
And there's some stars
That fell from the sky
Livin' up on the hill
Please come to L.A.
I just said no
Boy, won't you come home to me

(And) I said, ramblin' boy
Why don't you settle down
L.A. ain't your kind of town
There ain't no gold
And there ain't nobody like me
I'm the number one fan
Of the man from Tennessee

I'm the number one fan
of the man from Tennessee
