An inhuman, echoing voice bellows through the library, "Do NOT shoot me. It's Medusa. If you need out, I can get you out and to safety."

An enormous snakelike form pulls up outside the library window, crushing zombie bodies underneath it. Her hands enter the window, jerking the jam right out of the wall and widening the opening. Boiling water pours out underneath her, but she doesn't seem to notice.

"If you want out, climb aboard, and I'll get you into town."

"We can't do anything more from here, M," Shane says, holding out her hand and leaning over so Rogue can take it. "C'mon."

"We should let the wounded go first. We'll be okay here for now."

Shane nods and watches as the injured students are loaded up onto the creature's back.

"And, I don't think I said it before--I wasn't, er, exactly myself before, but thanks for the flowers." She smiles.

Blinking, Shane looks over at Rogue, her expression momentarily incredulous. After a moment, she shakes her head, the incredulous look going with it. "When all this shit is over with, let me buy you your first drink," she murmurs, returning the smile.
