These gloves," Roy holds up his hands (http://www.asylum-anime.com/accessories/n_fma-gloves.jpg), which have a geometric circle-design on the back, "Are allowing me to make the fire, and I'm controlling it with alchemy. As long as I don't get them wet and they can spark, anyway."

He eyes the almost-boiling water. "Not that I'll be touching that any time soon."

::warily, since she's had some bad experiences with magic, particularly involving fire:: That's, that's not technically magic, right?

Roy nods, too distracted to get annoyed by the mention of Edward like he normally would. "Yeah, but I don't know what he does with it. I didn't really see him during the fight."

Roy, had he been reading Chiana's mind (which he cannot), would have balked at the implication of magic and assured her that alchemy is a science, magic doesn't exist, and by the way, there's no god either. But thankfully he can't read minds and she was spared this miniature rant.
