Special Collections: Diluvian Dreams

[Just then, a crash can be heard outside the library, as quite a lot of hot water spills down the hall.]

((OOC: Note that there is a book cage and doors around Special Collections. Mmkay? Now, cause the doors are barred, we're not going to get a TON of water in here, but there is going to be plenty and it is going to be boiling hot.))

((to Duce))

John smiles at Archie.

"Could be worse, right? We could be playing chess or something boring like that."

Archie grins back.

"True, true. Chess games don't exactly make good stories to tell over a pint years later."

There were zombies! And boiling water rushing in! And we sat on bookshelves and played chess.

Are you sure it wasn't Pyramid? I distinctly remember it being Pyramid.

No. In a good story, nothing should ever detract from the fact that your life was in great mortal peril.

"There were zombies! And boiling water rushing in! And we sat on bookshelves as the water came higher and we almost DIED!"

Yes. That is a good story.

*nods*

Good story. Especially the *almost* part.

For the mortal peril to be REALLY mortal, you've gotta add in something else besides zombies and water. Like, "in the middle of an earthquake, with zombies biting at their ankles and water rushing through, they survived on the food in their pockets and spit for days."

THAT'S a good story.

Aww, death's no big. Although, I gotta say, boiled would be a new one.

*rolls her eyes at Jack, they've been this route several times since yesterday* Beats the hell out of me having to shoot you for getting zombified.

My good buddy and secret lover Thor would fix it. I'm sure they've dealt with this crap before.

Yeah. I'm sure he would. *grimaces* Don't forget. You promised you'd kill me if I got bit. No arguments.

I'd rather a rousing card game myself, really. If we must while away the time finding out whether or not we'll live, the stakes had damned well better be high.

Agreed.

And with cards, if you get pissed, you can fling the cards at them and hope you give them a paper cut.

*indicates Sakura*

Unless they're her cards, in which case the damage would be considerably higher.

Black. Duh.

*Grinning* Chess is for people with... much longer attention spans.

Chess was for geeks, Jack. That's a much easier way of saying it. When a game takes over three hours to complete, it's for geeks.
