DAMM - Period 1 Monday - The Final Countdown

Byron appeared before the class in the usual way and bowed to them.

"Greetings students! Today is the day of your Final exam! Follow me! To the DANGER SHOP!"

As the class moved to the danger shop, Byron explained the they would be presented with a situation that they will have to resolve. Each student had to pick at least one door, but could do as many as they like after that. Arcane, alchemical, and mundane items would be available for them to assemble whatever sort of solution might come into their heads.

The closet is quiet and dark, it does smell faintly of brimstone.

Wyatt carefully examined the door and the doorframe, looking for anything unusual.

The inside of the door frame has carvings all the way around.

Wyatt fished a flashlight out of his useful items and took a closer look at the carvings.

The carvings are fairly standard pictograms, the nearest ones seems to say something about the "Northeast Doorway".

Wyatt frowned and looked around for something to toss into the closet. He spied a random toy and threw it inside.

They toy landed in the closet with no ill affects.

It looked like a normal closet, but runes and possible brimstone and noises said otherwise. Wyatt decided to try a spell. "Close this gate, whatever it's for, let it remain as a normal door."

The runes glow slightly but nothing happens otherwise.

It seems that the closet has been prepared to act as a portal which can be opened and closed. So casting a spell to close something that isn't currently open isn't going to do much.

Wyatt went for a rephrasing. "Seal this gate, whatever it's for, let it remain as a normal door."

The carvings glow again, there's some popping and sizzling as they disappear.

Wyatt turned to look at the little girl. "It's okay now," he said. "Nothing's going to come out of there."
