DAMM - Period 1 Monday - The Final Countdown

Byron appeared before the class in the usual way and bowed to them.

"Greetings students! Today is the day of your Final exam! Follow me! To the DANGER SHOP!"

As the class moved to the danger shop, Byron explained the they would be presented with a situation that they will have to resolve. Each student had to pick at least one door, but could do as many as they like after that. Arcane, alchemical, and mundane items would be available for them to assemble whatever sort of solution might come into their heads.

"Is there any particular reason?" Setsuna asked, her head tilting, going down the nice long list of possibilities. Monsters, portal to hell, really severe lack of organization...

The little girl pointed over at her closet door.

"I ain't goin near it, you can if you wanna. Be careful! It's creepy."

Setsuna nodded to the girl, thinking that was probably for the best anyway, that the girl stay behind, since she didn't know what the deal with the closet was. She made sure her fingers were ready to grab one of her paper magic slips on a moment's notice as she approached it.

The closet door is still, there's no sound. Though there is the faint smell of brimstone.

The door opens without resistance, it's dark inside.

One hand on a slip of paper, Setsuna held out her other hand as she opened the door enough for her to lean in, sparking up a flame in the palm of her hand (hey! It was useful sometimes!) in an attempt to get a better look.

The closet is filled with a little girl's clothes and shoes. A few toys here and there.

There is a definite creepy vibe and a whiff of brimstone however.

Frowning slightly, Setsuna shifted through her paper talismens to find one to assist in detecting the supernatural, pressed it up into the wall at the back of the closet, and executed the mudra with a soft, but forceful "om."

On the inner door frame, a series of markings glowed.

Now that was interesting. Setsuna carefully studied the markings, to see if she could recognize them or even what they were made out of.

The writing was carved into the wood. It's not a language exactly, but seems to be pictograms. One carving in particular seems to be saying something about "North East Door" or something like that.
