Flood, Part 2

Before doing the upstairs bathrooms, Scooter retreived a few supplies: a large number of plastic tarps from the theatre, a flashlight and a thermos of coffee. He has rigged the tarps in all the bathrooms and along the halls to funnel water towards the main staircase and then proceeded to bash the hell out of all the second-floor water sources. The flood is really on its way now.

"Washing out the school. And boiling the zombies. Figure even they can't survive this."

"Want help?" Red said. "Even if it's to watch your back while you boil the water?"

"Well, I'm letting the school water-heaters take care of the boiling part and I've pretty much st off all the flood I can without going back to the basement. So, ah, unless you've got any ideas about how to improve the flood . . . " Scooter shrugs again.

"That's pretty smart." Red sat down and regarded the unusual looking...person. "My name's Red. I own the tattoo shop in town."

"Pleasure to meet you, Red. I'm Scooter. I'm the A/V-Theatre Tech Coordinator here at the school. I'll admit that this wasn't exactly in my job description, but I'm kinda used to that in a job . . . "

"Ingenuity, resourcefulness," Red's shoulders wiggled when he stood. He walked to the window and looked out, seeing the swarms of zombies around the dorm and the tower.

Down below, a zombie was slowly making his way up the side of a building. "Looks like we have a visitor."

"Oh, boy." Scooter is flummoxed for a moment for a moment. Then he remembers the turpentine and lighter in his pockets. He pulls them out and shows them to Red. "Shall we give out visitor a nice, warm welcome?"

Red chuffed lightly and grinned, his teeth showing. "Ingenuity and resourcefulness," he repeated. Standing to the side, Red still looked out the window to watch what would happen.

As Red was looking down at the progress, he noticed the zombie was moving slower and more jerkily. "Looks like you won't need to," Red said, quirking his good eyebrow at Scooter.

Scooter moved over to stand beside Red at the window. When he saw the zombie's progress had been halted completely, he smiled. "Looks like something's done it for them. Just hope my flood didn't take out anything it wasn't meant to."

"Hard to say." Turning his gaze to sweep over the campus grounds, Red could see the zombies slowing down and dropping. He wrinkled his nose. "It would be nice, though."

"Wanna sweep the lower floors, then? I kinda doubt any zombies got above the first floor, but it wouldn't hurt to check, right?"

"It sounds like a good plan," Red said. He scratched at his ear, setting up a small jingling before he stood and started to the door.

In the doorway, he waited for Scooter.

Scooter was right behind Red. At the doorway, he paused as well. "Down the main staircase, then? Should be able to see just about anything coming from there."
