After sending out a ~~handwavey~~ email that Gun Club would be an hour early today, Parker set up the range, posted the rules, then went back to wanting to chew her nails about Teal Dear's last concert.

SAFETY RULES:

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE

Luke shot a guilty look down at his hand. "Yeah...that was complicated. But it won't happen again!"

Good thing too--he was running out of hands.

"Yeah, you don't exactly have very many more to lose," Z pointed out. "And losing both hands...well, I wouldn't want to explain that to an HMO."

"HMO?" Luke asked.

"It's like an insurance thing here?" Z tried to explain. It would help if she really had a clue, either. "They decide what's going to be paid for and what you have to pay out of pocket for. And I think you have to explain, like, how the accident happened."

Luke snorted. "There would be a lot of paperwork for the hand, yeah."

"Especially if it was your second hand. I mean, one hand I could see, but both of them?"

Luke cracked up. "Talk about a cry for help."

"Help, I have no hands," Z snickered. "Very tragic. We shouldn't laugh."

"We can laugh a little," Luke said.
