Thursday met the students outside the Danger Shop today. She waited for everyone to gather before she spoke.

"This is your last class before the final examination. The enemies you have had to face over the past semester have all met their match. There have been triumphs and tears, but overall you have all done admirably and shown yourselves to be worthy opponents. Unfortunately, that isn't always the case. When you walk through these doors, you will have a choice to make. Stand and fight countless opponents led by a mastermind considered to be one of the most powerful beings in the world, or walk away and let them win. You may know him as Lord Vizzle from the Barry Plodder books.

Chances are you won't succeed. That's fine, that won't affect your grade. You can work together, or work alone, but know that if you face him alone you won't last long. Fight your way through masked minions more powerful than you, get to the leader and try to defeat him. Be warned - he has unknown powers that are difficult to avoid.

The aim here is to try your best knowing you will likely fail. How you proceed is your choice entirely."

As the students entered the Danger Shop, they found themselves in a dark room. The only light was cast onto the far door from above. Thursday informed them of what to do. "One by one, call out the name of the weapon or item of your choice. That item and whatever you have on you is what you can into the battle. No large explosives please. You want to keep your classmates alive as well. You're now on your own."

With that, she stepped back.

Weapons? River tilted her head. "Two knives," she said.

Two knives shimmered into existence on the table next to River.

Shawn, all very technical about this, asked for "A 'gun like that one Professor Deadpool lent me that one time'".

Hopefully he'll get something that'll do the job, at least.

The Danger Shop was a very clever device. Since Deadpool had used the Danger Shop before, it at least had some idea of what to produce.

It probably wasn't entirely accurate, but a decent weapon would have shown up.

"Can I use my natural abilities?" Bel said. "But I guess I'll take my athame along as well."

"Go right ahead," Thursday replied. "The safety protocols are in place, but try not to hit any of the other students." The Danger Shop produced a holographic athame for him.

Tori wasn't too keen on using weapons. "Am I allowed to rely on just my powers?" She really couldn't think up of a weapon to use.

"You certainly are," Thursday replied. "If there's anything that isn't a weapon that you can think of that might aid you, you can take that in with you, or nothing at alll."

I'd like to keep my wand, please," Hermione says. She's going home in a couple of weeks. This could be practice.

"If there's anything else you want, take it. If not, you're ready to enter."

Isabel's used blaster-like weapons on Antar but she was never entirely comfortable with them. She's never worked with knives, so they were off the list as well. It took her a minute to think of something suitable, then she smiled. "Two cans of hairspray please."

Two cans of hair spray appeared as requested.

"Handgun," Seely said. "SIG-Sauer P226."

The weapon of choice appeared on the table, complete with ammunition.

"Lightsaber, please," Luke requested politely. "Green blade."

The lightsaber appeared on the table.

"Space Patrol Delta-issue blaster, please," Z requested. "Fully charged power pack." Hey, it never hurt to be specific.

The SPD blaster with fully charged power pack appeared on the table.

Layla thought long and hard about weapons, and realized that all of them would be kind of useless to her. After Isabel asked for hairspray, she felt more comfortable saying, "An ivy plant, please. In a pot."

Thursday may have raised an eyebrow, but the computer didn't. The potted ivy plant appeared on the table.

"I guess... Colonial Fleet standard issue rifle?" Cally said. "Not that I really want it."

A Colonial Fleet standard issue rifle appeared on the table, complete with ammunition.

Luna had her wand tucked behind her ear. Thanks to last week (http://narglette.livejournal.com/3588.html), she wasn't sure how well it was going to work, but she had it.

She thought for a moment then called out, "a set of beater's bats (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/devices/devices-b.html#bat_beaters), please."

She figured they were portable and less difficult to wield than say, a vanishing cabinet (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/devices/devices-v.html#vanishing_cabinet).

Peter was a nerd who had, of course, read the books. He knew what he was in for. He knew that he was screwed against magic. He knew that without a good defense, he wouldn't have any shot. That's why he went with the best defensive weapon he knew: "I'll use Captain America's shield."
