Lunch - Monday 4/16

The Chef had gotten a few muppet to toss candy at people in the cafeteria. He thought this was a nice little treat for everyone. Of course some of the chickens didn't so much "toss" the candy as much as "try to bean teens in the face with Jolly Ranchers". They'd be nice to any kids though, don't worry.

The Chef also had some of his favorite Muppet songs playing in the background.

"But mom it looks icky." Sebastian complained.

"Just sit there and eat it, Sebastian. And be lucky you get lunch today. I don't cook."

"That's what daddy says. You can't cook worth a lick. But he made me promise never to tell you so you don't get hurt feelings."

"Thanks, Sebastian." Annette said dryly.

"Welcome, mommy. But I can't eat this."

"Yes, you can."

"No, I can't."

"Yes, you can."

"No, I can't."

"Are you hungry, Sebastian?"

"Yes."

"Then eat your lunch."

"I can't. I'll get sick."

"Sebastian?"

"Yes, mommy?"

"EATYOURLUNCHRIGHTNOW!"

Sebastian blinked and picked up his peunoot bootter und jelly sundveech and took a bite.

"Good boy."

"There isn't enough coffee in the world," Jake said sadly into the air, and poked at his mac and cheese. Waking up (http://krycek-rat.livejournal.com/29023.html?view=368735#t368735) hadn't been horrible, but now he should probably track down Etienne and Giuliana and gods willing avoid Parker for the rest of the day.

"Hi Dad." Mikey plopped himself down next to Jake, and looked into his coffee cup with interest. "How's it going? Can I go to a class with you?"

"Oh, it's you," Jake said gloomily. He'd worry about making the kid feel unwanted, but Mikey didn't really seem to lack self-confidence. "What! No!" He grabbed the cup, moving it out of Michael's way. "And no coffee for you. Where's your mom?"

"Yeah, me," Mikey said cheerfully. "Why not? You let me go to meetings as long as I'm quiet and don't make faces." He tilted his head up at Jake. "Mom's looking for Catie. She wandered off again. And she's too little to not worry about." He looked around, then back at Jake. "I'm hungry."

"Then go get some food," Jake said helpfully. "But lay off the muffins and cupcakes if you see any. Those are bad. Also meetings are different." How they were different he didn't know, but somehow he was sure they were.

"'kay." Michael wandered off, and came back with a tray laden with food, stuffing a cookie in his face. "'S good! Still want to go to class," he said with his mouth full.

"Why do you want to go to class? All I have today is Ethics anyway." He gave the cookie a suspicious look. "That's not a special cookie, is it?"

"What's Ethics? I'm bored. And I don't want to play with those other kids of Mom's now." Michael took the cookie out of his mouth and gave it an interested look. "What kind of special cookie?"

"Um, one that'll make you sing ABBA or something?" Jake shrugged. You could never really tell what special cookies did in Fandom. "And Ethics is boring. Really, really boring. Aren't there tons of kids not related to you around here you can play with?"

"Sure. Oh. Mom says I'm staying with you tonight or she's setting fire to all the coffee beans in the dorm, and taking the ones on the Island hostage." Michael grinned at Jake. "I'm precocious and it's your fault, Papa. //Please to be taking care of your offspring, Jakey,//" he added in French, sounding a little bit like Parker.

Jake stared at him, then sighed. "All right, I'll be in room 230 probably, with your brothers and sister and Krycek if he hasn't run off screaming."

"Cool." Michael grinned at him around another cookie. "Maybe I'll be singing showtunes all night." He bit into another cookie. "Or Metallica! Nah, nah, naaaaaah!"
