"Good afternoon, children!" Ms Frizzle trilled as she flounced into the room. "School is almost over! Isn't that upsetting? I don't know what I'll do with myself!"

She bounced and posed. "And you know what that means! It's almost time for our science fair, I'm so excited! You can work alone or with a partner to prepare an exhibit on some aspect of science! I'm sure you'll all come up with some wonderful -"

The Friz was interrupted by a loud sneeze.

She blinked and continued. "- wonderful ideas for -"

And another sneeze.

"Valentine! Are you alright?"

He sniffled and shook his head. "Sorry, Ms Frizzle, I just -" Another sneeze.

The Friz clapped her hands together. "I have the most wonderful idea for a field trip! Valentine, open your mouth and say 'Ahhh'! Everyone else - to the bus!"

[[I realise this is about, oh, six hours late. My schedule has been totally thrown off by the end of classes, an oral exam, and the copious amounts of alcohol I imbibed last night. OCD ~~coming~~ up and I'm so sorry. Valentine modded with permission. Play away, post is open for a few days.]]

The bus jumped into the air, spun around a few times, made it back through the window, and parked for a moment on Valentine's tongue. The headlights switched on and the bus trundled forward. "Hang on, children," Ms Frizzle said calmly as they passed the epiglottis and abruptly began travelling directly downwards. "We are now in the esophagus," she announced, "The first stop of the gastrointenstinal tract (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastrointestinal_tract)." She began pointing out various features and functions as they travelled downwards, eventually reaching the stomach. The bus didn't seem too fazed as it began to resemble more of a submarine. "And here we are in the stomach," Ms Frizzle said, still looking completely unconcerned. She continued to lecture, until she reached the bit about digestion.

"This is possibly the most disgusting field trip I've ever been on."

"Wonderful!"

Lucas managed a small twitch of his lips that could have been either a smile or a grimace.

"More disgusting than when we were eaten by a fish?"

He had to think about that. "No, but only because if we were stuck in the digestive system of a fish it'd be a whole lot more cramped in here."

"Trust me. Fish guts are icky." Sokka looks like he really knows what he's talking about.

Nova was more than a little concerned by the fact that he could see everything Valentine had eaten. He was possibly preparing to look away.

Alphonse found it really difficult to disagree that this was, in fact, kind of gross. And possibly extremely weirded out they were roaming around inside a classmate, of all things.

So if anyone noticed him making a variety of strange faces, that was the most likely reason why.
