Rory Paris shoves open a door after walking up seemingly thousands of stairs. She had already nearly slapped Logan Aaron on a couple occasions, but had decided it wasn't worth her energy. They were on a mission.

The room is small, and dusty, and Paris immediately positions herself in front of the window, peering through a pair of binoculars.

"No," she says flatly. She jabs an elbow backwards into his ribs.

Aaron moves deftly so the elbow jab is only a glancing blow. Looking out the window, he sees the vortex descending. "Holy mother of God," he whispers. "What on earth is that?" Yanking the radio from Paris's hand, he pushes the talk button. "John. Something's coming. Don't know what it is, but it looks nasty."
