fandomhigh | Superheroing- Tuesday, April 10- 2nd period

When the class gets in today, Captain Liberty doesn't waste any time in things like, you know, waiting for them to sit down or anything. "Inevitably, when you start getting out into the superhero business, you have to deal with people. Namely other people. Teammates. Sidekicks. They're a natural part of the whole thing. Sometimes it works out well, and sometimes you end up looking back on things and wondering what happened to your life and how you ended up with these people."

Realizing belatedly that that might sound bad, Captain Liberty perks up and says, "But sometimes it's kind of cool. So today you're going to put together your own crack team. Which is not necessarily a team on crack. Find a partner. Talk for a little bit about what it is the other person has to offer and how they can help you. Figure out how you can get the teamwork going. Then find another person to talk to about the same thing. If you and the first person know you want to work together and want another teammate, talk to the next person togegther.

"By the end of class, report back to me with one or two people in your team. Don't just pick your friends. That's lame and boring. If groups are uneven, I'll pair you together, or I'll work with someone. Next week you're going to be in the Danger Shop- remember, costumes- and fighting off a bad guy in these teams you pick, so make it a good group. Any questions? Then happy networking."

"Or to always show wee naked butt pictures to whoever they're dating." Miley nodded. "Bonus points if the picture has them sucking their thumb at the same time."

"Nathan's got the edge with that," Peter said. "He plans ahead like you wouldn't believe."

"He sounds way worse than Jackson." Miley grinned. "He describes himself as more of a lover than a thinker."

"I didn't have the heart to tell him that the lyrics were actually 'fighter'."

Peter snickered. "Could've been worse? Could've described himself as a pullover?"

"Don't give him any suggestions, he's very easily swayed." Miley giggled.

Peter gave it some thought. "I'm a clover, I'm not tighter."

"Good one." Miley giggled. "Though it makes me think of tighty whiteys."

"I'm a pushover, not a flyer?" Peter suggested.

"Much better." Miley nodded. "I bet if I re-recorded that song and sent it to my brother it would take about 3 minutes before he'd be using that line on the beach."

"You're good with computers?" Peter guessed, having no idea about Miley's other talents. "Rip the song and mix it around a bit?"

[ooc: home stretch at work, if I vanish for a bit that's why]

"Umm...no." Miley shook her head. "I know enough to check my email and that's it. But I know...uh...a guy with a studio so it shouldn't be hard to manage."

"Ahhh, nerdy friends." Peter nodded sagely. "Good to have around. I'm mostly a putterer myself. I can load up an iPod but don't ask me to fix anything. Not with computers anyway."

"Can you fix things other than computers?"

"I'm hoping to be a nurse," Peter said. He gave a wry smile. "Can't always rely on waiting for somebody with super powers to stand next to me, you know? I want to help people even if I'm on my own."

"That's totally awesome!" Miley nodded. "The sight of blood doesn't make you all squicky?"

"Nah." Peter waved such concerns off. "It's actually kind of interesting. I've really been enjoying Anatomy this semester."

"So if you end up beating up the bad guys, you could make them all better too?" Miley smiled. "You're a full service superhero."

"I'd probably put fixing my teammates first," Peter said ~~as his mun wondered WTF with his previous icon~~. "Least I can do for them."

"I'd rather your teammates not get any injuries." Miley joked. "If it's all the same to me."

[*snerk* I wondered about that. I thought maybe it was related to anatomy or something. Peter is saying "Help me...learn human anatomy"?]

"Sure, if you want to be pro-active about it," Peter joked.

[I blame gremlins]

"I'm pro-active about all things that mean I don't get ouchies." Miley nodded. "I grew out of my obsession to wear band-aids at 8."

"Not even the cute My Little Pony ones?"

It was this sort of thing that got Peter thwapped by folks who didn't have to be Nathan.

"Not even the Hannah Montana ones with the fake bling." Miley said. "And I'm a total sucker for anything shiny."

"There's band-aids with fake bling?" Peter asked. "No way."

"Tiny little faux crystals shaped like hearts and stars." Miley rolled her eyes. "I've got a whole boatload of them in my room."
