When the students filed into the Danger Shop this morning, they'd notice Fraser standing at attention near the front of the room. The names of those with detention were neatly displayed in plain view.

"Good morning everyone," Fraser said, smiling pleasantly. "I trust you all had a fine Friday, slept well and are prepared for your detention this morning. Some of you may know me, some of you may not. I'm Constable Benton Fraser, head of school security here. If this is our first meeting, I wish it could be under better circumstances."

He paused to take his hat off and drop it on a desk. "For today's detention, we're going to have a little adventure. This adventure will be non violent and, should you try anything violent, you will have to deal with me. I'll be guiding your progress and controlling the adventure. Your goal is to retrieve the treasure from the castle and unleash it's many wonders. Good luck."

Fraser stepped back and the Danger Shop suddenly became a large, open meadow.

[Basically, this is Choose Your Own Adventure. I'll start out with a setting and some minor directions and the students can go from there. Familiar characters might pop up along the way. But, please, no violence. I'll be around all day most likely.]

You are in a large meadow. It's a chilly but not cold. In the far distant north, you can see a castle. To the west lies a dilapidated cottage. To the east lies a quiet, serene river.

At your feet, you find a compass, a small feather, and a key with no markings.

Where would you like to go?

[Just have your student choose where to go and I'll ping back with what happens.]

The castle is heavily guarded by well trained soldiers. There is a ladder that leads over the castle wall to the left off the guards. There is a moat that leads to the innermost chambers of the dungeon.

Where do you go?

Pause your adventures and eat lunch.

Ping if you have any questions, need my attention when I'm ignoring you (hee hee), or want to give me cookies.

Seely Booth

Seely picked up the compass, feather, and key, then headed towards the river.

As Seely got closer to the river, he'd be able to see someone hunched over the river, drinking water copiously. The person didn't look threatening.

Seely approached the person. "Hey, how's it going?"

The person whipped around and stared at Seely. "Who dares pass through my forest?"

Seely spread his hands peacefully. "Hey, teach, it's just me, Seely."

"I do not know you," the river person said. "Tell me your name."

"I just said, Seely."

Alec

"Woe, for I cannot hear you," the person said...woefully. "I've been cursed by the earwax demon!"

Alec frowned slightly as he looked around himself, finally taking the compass, the feather and the key in case they had some use later on, then headed towards the cottage out of curiosity.

"...right."

"WHAT?"

"WHY HAVE YOU BEEN CURSED BY THE EARWAX DEMON?"

The outside of the cottage was crowded with rickety chairs, broken tables, and other knick knacks. Smoke was rising from the chimney.

"BECAUSE I REFUSED TO MARRY HIM!" She looked sad. "CAN YOU HELP ME?"

Seely shrugged. "SURE, WHAT DO YOU NEED ME TO DO?"

"IF YOU CAN FIND THE FUNNEL OF EARWAXINA IN THE FOREST, IT WILL REMOVE MY EAR WAX," she said. "AND THEN I WILL GIVE YOU YOUR REWARD!"

"RIGHT! WHERE'S THE FOREST THEN?"

Well, at least it seemed like someone was home. Alec knocked at the door.
