Music is Love: [4/6] Third Period

If there were any sign that Lorne was emo this week you'd have to look very hard to find them as he happily bounces around the room.

"Okay kittens! Today's musical assignment is to sing your favorite theme song from your favorite Television Show or Movie!"

"Next week we'll be having some guest judges show up and your musical assignment is to sing a song that embodies the true value of friendship. If you can't think of one the alternate assignment is go come up with a song you would sing while dancing on a bar while your best friend gives out lapdances. Please note that this is not an excuse to give lapdances in class. I have a feeling it would be frowned upon."

Lorne settled down in his chair and kicked his feet up on the edge of the stage. "Dazzle me."

[wait for OCD is up! AND THERE IS NO OOC THREAD! *waits for world to end*]

Given the events of yesterday, it's no surprise that Carmela goes for the Jeopardy theme. With lyrics. That she wrote herself.

Hitting buzzers is lots of fun
Even though you might not knoooow the annnnswer
Hit it anyway and you'll annoy Hades
And maybe make his hair turn red

If you don't like the categories
You can always make uuuuuup your oooooown
And I don't care what Hades says
Pie is best served with ice cream.

Greg decided to sing the full version of his favorite show, Criminal Forensic Detectives's song.

The full version was kind of long.

"Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?

I woke up in a Soho doorway
A policeman knew my name
He said "You can go sleep at home tonight
If you can get up and walk away"

I staggered back to the underground
And the breeze blew back my hair
I remember throwin' punches around
And preachin' from my chair

Well, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Tell me, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)

I took the tube back out of town
Back to the Rollin' Pin
I felt a little like a dying clown
With a streak of Rin Tin Tin

I stretched back and I hiccupped
And looked back on my busy day
Eleven hours in the Tin Pan
God, there's got to be another way

Who are you?
Ooh wa ooh wa ooh wa ooh wa ...

Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?

Well, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Tell me, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees

I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still recieve your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?

Well, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Tell me, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)

Summer chose the theme from The Valley, of course.

We've been on the run
Driving in the sun

Looking out for Number 1
California here we come
Right back where we started from

Hustlers grab your guns
Your shadow weighs a ton
Driving down the 101
California here we come
Right back where we started from

California!

Here we come!

On the stereo
Listen as we go

Nothing's gonna stop me now
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Pedal to the floor

Thinkin' of the roar
Gotta get us to the shore
California here we come
Right back where we started from

California!
Here we come!
California!
California!
Here we come!
California!
California!
Here we come!
California!
California!
Here we come!

Katara sort of knew this song. Maybe. There was a lot of 'umm'-ing and humming in places.

Wanting you the way I do
I only want to be with you
And I would go to the ends of the earth
Cause, darling, to me that's you're worth

Where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead

If you're out on the road
Feeling lonely, and so cold
All you have to do is call my name
And I'll be there on the next train

Where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead

I always wanted a real home with flowers on the windowsill
But if you want to live in New York City, honey, you know I will
I never thought I could get satisfaction from just one man
But if anyone can keep me happy, you're the one who can

And where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead

Door doesn't know a lot of movies or tv shows. So she sings the theme from the first movie she saw in Fandom.

...except for it doesn't have words.

So she hums the Space Battles theme.

Yes, the whole thing. Even the boring bridgey bit.

But since it's not quite as good without the context, she has several sheets of paper taped together in a long string, with words written on them, and as she hums, she holds the paper up in front of her face and makes the words roll upwards.

It's very long. It ends with If you can read this, you don't need glasses.

Molly stepped up on stage to take her turn at singing.

Bitterwoman!
Bitterwoman!

All the world is waiting on you,
For they fear your PMS,
And if anyone might,
Say your top's too tight,
Then you'll beat them black and blue!

Bitterwoman!
Bitterwoman!

Now the crims they run from you,
'cause they know what you might do.
With whip and heels,
Ignoring their appeals,
Think their white lies are the truth?

Bitterwoman!
Stay the hell away from
Bitterwoman!

We all quake when you are stressed,
And are quite happy to attest,
You're a sight to behold,
When you begin to scold,
Stop the brawls,
You own their
Molly happened to cough right then and so missed finishing that line.

Bitterwoman!
Bitterwoman!
Why are you so bitter?
Bitterwoman!

Dean wasn't sure why this was the first theme song that popped into his head but it was something of an ear worm so he couldn't actually think of anything else. Shrugging he stepped up to the mic and started singing:

"Scooby-Dooby-Doo, Where Are You?
We got some work to do now.
Scooby-Dooby-Doo, Where Are You?
We need some help from you now.

Come on Scooby-Doo, I see you... pretending you got a sliver
But you're not fooling me, cause I can see, the way you shake and shiver.

You know we got a mystery to solve,
So Scooby Doo be ready for your act.
Don't hold back!
And Scooby Doo if you come through
you're going to have yourself a scooby snack!
That's a fact!

Scooby-Dooby-Doo, here Are You.
You're ready and you're willing.
If we can count on you Scooby Doo,
I know you'll catch that villian.
"

Alec didn't have one favorite show or theme song, so he just thought of the one he'd heard most recently and stepped up to the mic, pitching his voice a little deeper than usual as he sang what was perhaps the greatest piece of television theme song music in existence (http://home.worldonline.dk/kschi/Soundfiles/TVserier_Walker_Texas_Ranger.mp3).

In the eyes of a Ranger,
The unsuspected stranger
Had better know the truth of wrong from right.
'Cause the eyes of a Ranger are upon you,
Any wrong you do he's gonna see,
When you're in Texas look behind you,
'Cause that's where the Ranger's gonna be.

It's time for another round of "Avoiding Embarrassment by Embarrassing Yourself Futher", with your host, SOKKA!

When you find youself in danger,
When you're threatened by a stranger,
When it looks like you will take a lickin', (puk, puk, puk)
There is someone waiting,
Who will hurry up and rescue you,
Just Call for Super Chicken! (puk, ack!)

Fred, if you're afraid you'll have to overlook it,
Besides you knew the job was dangerous when you took it (puk, ack!)

He will drink his super sauce
And throw the bad guys for a loss
And he will bring them in alive and kickin' (puk, puk, puk)
There is one thing you should learn
When there is no one else to turn to
Call for Super Chicken! (puk, puk, puk)
Call for Super Chicken! (puk, ack!)

Cassie sang the theme to a very important show.

Sometimes the world looks perfect,
Nothing to rearrange.
Sometimes you get a feeling
Like you need some kind of change.
No matter what the odds are this time,
Nothing's going to stand in my way.
This flame in my heart,
And a long lost friend
Gives every dark street a light at the end.

Standing tall, on the wings of my dream.
Rise and fall, on the wings of my dream.

The rain and thunder
The wind and haze
I'm bound for better days.
It's my life and my dream,
Nothing's going to stop me now
