"I hope it's a lot of fun. I love to dance and do the whole dress up thing. Back home I did a lot of it and actually grew tired of it. Here? "I'm generally not big on these dance occasions," Mac said with a shrug. "I didn't even go last year that my mun can remember Still, if you've got someone to go with, they can be nice."

"Yeah, it's all about the go with, cause I wouldn't go alone, I'm sure of it." She grinned and tilted her head. "I bet you'll be pretty, Mac, all fancied up."

Mac blushed down at her salad. "I'm really not that good at fancied up," she said.

"Hmm, we'll see. You've got great hair." Annette chuckled at her blush and picked at her seled some more, taking another bite. "Either way, Cally will certainly appreciate it."

"She always does," Mac said with a little smile. "For Homecoming, we did all the dress shopping together, so we wouldn't clash, or whatever. Not that, that really mattered seeing as the whole thing went black and white anyway."

"I love black and white," she said with a small smile. "There were so many black and white balls back home - but they were beautiful. All of them."

"Bet they weren't quite as realistic as ours was," Mac commented with a chuckle.

Annette raised her brows and did the nod thing, "Yeah, I bet not either." And please, she thought, let nothing Fandomish ruin the Prom. She didn't want to be a...chicken, or anything else for that matter.

"It was quite nice," Mac said. "Very... retro-feeling."

"So, how's classes been going for you?" Annette asked, finishing as much seled as she was going to eat.

"Not bad," Mac said casually. "Nothing really weird has happened lately. Pity, really as it would be a whole lot more interesting that way."

"Willow did tell me Jamie is a yappy dog? That might be weird?"

"You're sure that wasn't a metaphor?" Mac asked carefully.

Annette knitted her brows, "Pretty sure. She tried to undo the spell that was apparently cast on him - it was a no go. I haven't seen him yet, though I thinking he might be pretty cute."

Mac arched an eyebrow. She didn't know Jamie that well, but she wouldn't describe him as cute, that was for sure.

"Well, that's weird... " At that point, Sokka burst in (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1321898.html?thread=77461418#t77461418). Mac cocked her head to one side as she watched and amended her statement with, "And I think that, is even weirder."

"People get turned into animals around here all the time," Mac continued, chewing on a piece of lettuice as she watched. "That," she gestured with her for towards Sokka, "is less common."

"Yeah, I have to say, first time I've seen a student think they were...a chicken? I'm guessing?"

"First time for me too," Mac admitted.

She glanced down at her food warily. "You don't think it's the salad, right?" Around here, when people acted weirdly, the first place to put the blame was usually cafeteria food.

Annette made a face and pushed her tray away. "I'm not eating anymore just in case." She looked back over at Sokka. "...crap, what if what I've already is enough to affect me? Crap."

"Woah," Mac waved her hands in what was supposed to be a calming motion. "Relax. Almost a year and a half here and it's never happened to me. Chances are you'll be fine."

"I'm relaxed." she said, looking at her tray. "I just think I'm full now. You want the rest of mine?"

At that, Annette laughed. Hey, better to laugh than cluck like a chicken.
