Advanced Tactics, Tuesday, 7th Period
Today, the DangerRoom was set up as a smaller version of a posh, 1930s movie palace-style theatre, with rich trims of burgundy and gold. Honor stood at the front of the auditorium, clad in her civilian clothes for the first time in a while. Nimitz sat at her feet, and her arm rested against her chest as one might cradle an injured limb. She gave a taut smile as the bell rang.
"My apologies, ladies and gentlemen, for making you pay for my shortcomings. Rather than the actual exercise I had planned for today, we're going to revert to the old standby -- a film." Her smile slipped lopsided, her voice taking on a wry tone. "Today's feature will be The Final Warrior, a samurai movie focusing on the shift from feudal to 'modern' Japan.
"For next week, I would like you to write an analysis of the tactics you see the Army captain use against the Japanese military. After summarizing his actions, I'd like you to state what you would have done. This should take you at least five pages, and I will collect it at the beginning of class next week."
The taut smile returned as she made her way off the stage and headed into the shadows. Off to stage right, as the lights faded and the movie screen came to life, the unmistakable blue glow of her minicomp might be seen by the occasional, observant student.
[A few OCD threadscoming up. Apologies for this. I literally forgot what day it was.]
