Extraterrestrial Civilizations - Class 11 [3/28, Period 4]

"We sadly had another cancellation of a scheduled guest," Ellie explained as the class arrived. "So today's another movie day. This time we'll watch 'NE - The Not-Earthbound.' I'd also like you to write a short paragraph about how you think the alien's appearance affected his visit to Earth. If he, say, looked like a hot chick, how would his experience have been different?"

[ooc: Sorry for another lame class, but we just had major layoffs here at work. I survived, but my boss didn't, and we are very sad.]

Summer sat down and watched the movie. She actually paid attention, too, mostly because she loves this movie.

Gwynn smiled at Summer and tied to understand the movie. Though, the bandage on her arm was itching.

Summer smiled back. It faded when she noticed the bandage on Gwynn's arm. "Oh my god, what happened?"

"I was attacked?"

"Someone attacked you?" Summer repeated. "Who would do that?"

"Nottingham. He and prince John seek to kill me."

Summer just stared. "I don't know who these people are, but they can't do that. I seriously doubt they could get away with that in this town."

Plus, Summer could always stab them with a fork.

"I'm not sure what can be done to stop them from taking me," Gwynn said with a shrug. "I cannot fight Nottingham and his soldiers by myself."

Gwynn would pay to see that.

Summer frowned. "Well, this is Fandom. There's no way people will just sit around and let that happen. Anything I can do to help?"

"I'm not sure, but I would appreciate any help I can get."

Summer nodded. "Well, you can count on me."

She wasn't exactly sure what she could do, but she had to offer.

Gwynn smiled. "Thank you. I just need to figure out a way to keep from being taken back to Prince John."

"We'll figure it out," Summer said.

Gwynn nodded. "Thank you, Summer."

"Anytime, Gwynn," Summer said sincerely.

Lana watched the movie and really enjoyed it.

Movies were good. Especially ones Stark hadn't seen before. Of course, that was the vast majority of all movies. And this one had an adorable wee alien, even better.

Handwaving it is fine.

Gwynn turns in her assignment.

Summer turned the assignment in.

Lana turned in her assignment.

Oh, a topic Stark actually could talk about easily.

Of course, his assignment was focused on the weird reactions that a totally hypothetical, masked ~~glowy plot device yay!~~ alien might be received.

Z ~~handwavily~~ turned in her assignment.

Mention any flowers and she'll twitch strangely.

Gwynn approached Ellie after class. "Ma'am, may I speak with you."

"Certainly, Gwynn," Ellie said. "What's on your mind?"

Gwynn let out a breath, rubbing her jaw. "I may not be in class next week... or again, actually."

Ellie frowned. "Are you leaving school?" she asked.

"Not willingly. But there's a man on the island determined to take me back to Britain to be hanged." This was said with a shrug.

"You're not going to let this happen, are you?" Ellie said. "No one can take you out of here against your will, and certainly not if they're gonig to harm you."

Gwynn shrugged. "I do not plan to make it easy for him to kill me, but if he finds me again like he ddid last night it could be verybad."

Ellie rose to her feet. "Gwynn, you have to go to the principal about this. We're not going to let students be assaulted and dragged off here."

"Principal Washburn? You think she can help until my Uncle gets here?"

"Of course," Ellie said firmly. "And I'll do whatever I can as well."

"I hope this doesn't cause anyone any trouble here."

"It's part of our jobs here to take care of the students," Ellie said. "Don't worry about it."

I hate my job anyway. This just makes it more hateful.
