Aly looked tired and a bit worried when the class filed into the classroom.

"In case anyone is thinking of skipping class next week, it'll be our second class on making things go boom. So whether that makes you decide to miss class or be sure to show up early, there it is."

"This class, however, we're going talk about a faction that we haven't really touched on more than tangentially yet. And that's the military. No matter what happens in a revolution, you're going to have to deal with the country's military at some point. Try to get them on your side, figure out a way to keep them shining brass until you're firmly in power, send them out to the northern frontier to play in the snow, fight them face on - all of them are valid options." She smirked. "I don't advise the last really."

"Today, I'd like you to pair up and discuss strategies for handling the army and navy of the government you're trying to overthrow. Anything goes, but try to look at the benefits and possible negatives to the strategy you choose. Any questions?"

Jamie is the one of the corner pieces.

"Hey Teach," Jamie said dropping off a shiny red apple on Aly's desk. "Sorry I missed class last week. What do I need to make up?"

Seely is a pointy piece you forget to put back in the box and stand on barefoot at three in the morning while getting a glass of water.

"Everything okay?" Aly asked. She was concerned, but there was also a smile at the apple. She rifled through her papers and handed Jamie the handouts (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1290872.html#cutid1) from last class. "To make it up? Go flirt with someone."

Bridge is a piece from a completely different puzzle that accidentally got put in the wrong box.

"Everything's fine," Jamie replied. "Just had to take care of a friend. In space."

Yes. Jamie actually was bragging about being in space.

"Um... Here's the thing about flirting? My girlfriend will probably put me in a coma."

Belthazor is the missing piece.

Talking to people yesterday had helped, but Bridge was still kind of quiet and withdrawn and not at all bouncy.

If Aly was Jamie's age, she'd be looking at him like he was stupid. As it is, she just looked far too amused. "Because you are unable to flirt with your girlfriend...?"

"Flirting with anyone else and she might put me in one," Jamie explained. "Unless you mean I can just flirt with my girlfriend which in that case how is that different from any of your other classes? Not that I'm flirting in class and ignoring your lecture..."

Jamie blinked. He really needed to get that filter between his mouth and brain installed.

"Okay, I'm just going to go flirt with my girlfriend and shut up now."

D'anna is a shiny metallic puzzle piece.

Isabel is that odd little piece that you just can't figure out where it goes.

Isabel smiled at Bridge as she took the seat next to him and then started to take notes. She knew all about quiet support but she was more then willing to talk if he needed it.

Sam is one of the pieces that look just like one of the other pieces and gets put in the wrong place.

Sam decided the easiest thing to do would be to have some revolutionaries start a second front for fighting to keep the military occupied.

"Have fun," Aly said, laughing a bit. She would have argued that flirting with people other than your girlfriend or boyfriend was perfectly fine for simple entertainment. But it didn't seem to be the appropriate response here.

Marco is the brightly colored piece you can't figure out the place for until the last minute.

"Find their leader, convince him you're not a loon and the good guy here." Marco paused. "Bribe 'em."

Steerpike is a piece of the background.

"Well, obviously, you have to undermine the military before you can get to the meat of the revolution. This is why subtle coups always work better."
