Self Defense Club, Friday [After the Assembly]

When the other students arrive, they will notice their surroundings are a bit different this time around.

They will find themselves in a park setting, with what looks like a picnic or birthday party that has been disrupted by... a giant rubber monster. Huh, what's up with that? ~~We're on crack, I know! :D~~

Scattered around the park, are numerous garbage cans and soccer balls, and various party paraphernalia ~~that's totally moddable~~.

Tori and Conner were in the room, waiting for everyone to arrive.

[OOC: OCD is ~~coming right~~ up! Slowplay for me for a little while, going to see a friend's concert and then possibly to see "Happy Feet", free of charge!]

Yeah, it's kind of weird. How can you not notice?

"Uhm, what?"

Tori couldn't help but smile at Billy's reaction. That was to be expected. "Yeah, I know this might be strange, but trust us. This could happen."

"That's that thing made of?"

"Looks to be rubber." Tori answered.

Billy scratched his head. "Okay."

"It's odd, I know." Tori admitted. "But, you never know what you might end up facing. Have to be prepared." She hadn't ever thought she'd end up fighting monsters like the one they had here.

"I've lived on this island for half a year. I don't know why this is throwing me."

Tori laughed. "Things can still surprise you. It's bound to happen, even here."

When it came to things attacking him, Billy didn't like surprises. "Apparently. So, where are it's vulnerable spots?"

Neither did Tori. "I'm not totally sure, try for its midsection first."

"Got it." He picked up some weapons (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1300145.html?thread=76342193#t76342193).

Conner was standing with his hands in his pockets, kicking around a soccer ball.

"So I know this is kind of weird, but it's actually kind of useful," he said. "You're not always gonna have weapons on hand, and sometimes you might be up against something that might, um . . . hurt to hit or kick. And one of the important elements of self-defense is being aware of your surroundings."

As he spoke, he bounced the soccer ball off his knee a few times, then kicked it up into the air, high, before slamming it with a full-force volley kick that knocked over a nearby trash can.

"And your surroundings can help you. If you've gotta trip someone up with a trash can, or pull a bag over their head, or something goofy to buy yourself time, then go for it. This isn't about showy fighting, it's about defending yourself. Use what you've got. So go ahead, poke around the park and see what you might be able to use as a weapon in a pinch."

[OOC: Park contents are totally moddable. Assume there's a playground set nearby.]

Trash can lids make dandy oversized ninja stars. And Billy was a good shot with ninja stars. Three of them in quick succestion were hurtling for the monster's head, and unmentionables.

Conner was here, using the soccer ball for target practice.

Tori was around as well, scoping things out and wandering a bit. She'd never had the experience of a playground being a battlefield.

Argh, sorry for being all late with the rest of the OCD threads. It's been a hell of a day.

And I know I'm forgetting something . . .
