Hunting 101 - Class 10 (Wednesday period 7)

When they students enter the Danger Shop, the find themselves on the edges of a swamp at night. John, as usual, was leaning against the parked Impala waiting for them.

"This is Laveau Swamp," he said. "It has a little infestation problem right now. Of zombies." As if on cue a low disturbing moan drifted out of the night. "As you can hear," John continued with a small smile. "The bokar who raised them is in a shack near the center of the swamp. Your assignment is to make it to that shack and stop him. There will be some kind of talisman that he'll be using to control them. Destroy it and then get the hell out."

John pushed away from the side of the car and walked around to the trunk. "This particular type of zombie shrugs off most attacks except fire. Now generally, you're not going to be able to get a hold of a real flame thrower quickly or easily, so that's when you've got to improvise." He pulled out an aerosol can and a lighter and demonstrated just how to improvise. (Winchester flame thrower, patent pending)

"That's going to be your main weapon today. Just be careful where you aim when you use it -- you don't want to set anything on fire that you don't mean to, such as each other. Try to avoid that."

Isabel remembered the mummy attack as she picked up a can of hairspray. Hopefully this time there won't be any beetles.

Dick's done the aerosol can flame thrower thing before. For fun of course, not because there was a zombie invasion in Neptune. He could think of a few people there he'd like to seen eaten though.

Setsuna's nose wrinkled slightly. Fire certainly wasn't her strong point. She still grabbed a sword, though. Couldn't leave home without one, really, and decided, why not, aerosol can. She'd skip the lighter, though. She had at least a source of flame covered.

Sokka liked the look in her eyes. He had a very similar one as he picked up his own aerosol can and lighter. And shotgun. And machete. And then put down the shotgun when he realized he couldn't carry it all.

"Hey," he said to Jo, as he tested out the improvised flamethrower. "Partners?" he asked. And then, "Ready to burn the swamp down?"

He surprised himself by actually wishing for a moment that Zuko were around.

Parker had fun with this-- okay, Parker did fine with this, during the mummy attack. So she grabs a couple aerosol cans and keeps a hold of her own lighter.

Blair had decided not to grab a partner. He had taken the aerosol can and lighter, but he had no intention of using it. Instead he had taken a container of trail mix out of his backpack and was sprinkling it on the ground. "Here, zombie, zombie, zombie! Yummy food for you to eat!"
