The students met in the classroom today thanks to ~~handwavy~~ notification by E-mail. "Sorry about that," Captain Liberty greets them. "Couldn't get the stupid simulation to work. So that'll be next week, and on the plus side, at least you don't have to wear your costumes, right?" It might be clear she's a little bit frustrating about the stupid simulation.

"Every villain has a plan. Usually they're diabolical, or at least they're called diabolical while the superhero's standing there going 'Seriously?' You get used to it," she assures them. "These plans are most likely things like trying to throw down some wrath on a city by using some sort of machine created by some scientist with too much time on his hands, or trying to carve your name into the moon. They don't always make sense, which is why you have to slap the bad guy's hand and say "NO", because people should not suffer from their overblown stupidity.

"Today you're going to pair up again, and each of you will come up with some sort of diabolical plan. Be as creative as possible- the real bad guys will be. The other person will try to find holes in your plan and figure out how to foil you. Then you get to switch off. You know the drill by now."

And while they're working, she'll spend her time stewing about technology.

"Well, you make the alcholic appear drunk in front of the UN, you make the warrior think he's fighting a war that he'd be stupid enough to sacrifice himself for, and then you make... yeah. That sort of thing," Cassie said, less than jovial.

"There's an alcoholic superhero? Isn't that a bad example to kids?" Miley asked. "I think the second one would be hard to do."

"Well, former alcoholic," Cassie said. "And yeah, the second one is kind of hard unless you're an evil psychotic witch who's completely insane."

"I'm confused by your plan but maybe that's a good thing. Maybe confusion adds to the diabolicalness."

"Sorry," Cassie said. "I'm kinda... drawing on... sorta personal experience."

"Okay?" Miley said catiously. "Are you going to be okay?"

"Erm... as okay as possible," Cassie said. "Sorry."

"No, it's okay. Do you need a hug or ice cream or something?"

Cassie smiled a bit. "Sorry. Been kinda morbid since a friend of the family died last week," she said. "A hug would be nice."

"Someone died?" Miley gasped and moved to give Cassie a hug. "That's horrible!"

Cassie hugged Miley tightly. "Assassinated, really. So, extra horrible."

"You're kidding!" Miley patted her back and remembered the emails from this weekend. "They weren't assassinated by anyone we know, where they?"

"No," Cassie said, as much as she wanted to do something stupid like blame Teddy. "Don't know who did it, actually."

"So you don't even know who did it?" Miley frowned. "Are you in danger?"

"I'm not important enough to be a target," Cassie said. "About the only one here who wants me hurt is Teddy."

Miley frowned. "Who is this Teddy and why does he want to hurt you? I may not have superpowers but I can give him a good old fashioned southern beating."

Cassie pointed over at Teddy in the classroom. "He thinks I'm a traitor."

Cassie watched, a little afraid of what might happen.

"Wow." Miley said after she came back. "What a jerkface! What is up with that?"

"Yeah," Cassie said. "It's complicated."

"No kidding." Miley nodded, taking a seat. "Sounds like you have some bad history with that guy. Anything you want to talk about?"
