Chess Club (03/15, 5pm FHT)

Ami was still in the clinic, so once again Aziraphale set up the weekly Chess Club meeting. The tables and boards were laid out and ready for play, and Ami's handouts were also available. Homemade cookies and brownies, as well as soda and juice, were on a table at the back of the room.

"I'm afraid Miss Mizuno is still not with us. If anyone has any business they would like to discuss, please feel free to speak up. And, of course, feel free to play some chess."

"James says I think too philosophically, and not analytically enough, to be really good at chess. But supposedly you can memorize all the different combinations of moves, so perhaps that's a way to get around not being so good at strategy." He gave a little shrug. "It's an interesting game though, isn't it?"

"It is." Billy nodded. "I also like that it's a quiet game."

"Yes, yes I like that as well," Aziraphale agreed. "I know how to play football, but I rather prefer a good puzzle. Something quiet that you can do while you have a nice cuppa."

"I haven't done a puzzle in...I don't know how long. Unless you count the skeleton in Forensics."

"I...am not certain I see how a skeleton is a puzzle, but I suppose it's possible," he mused. "I like crosswords, myself. The Telegraph has some really good ones. I can bring you some to class if you like."

"I seem to recall jigsaw puzzles." Billy said. "But crosswords are good too."

"I don't know...that I've ever done a jigsaw puzzle," Aziraphale mused. "Perhaps we need a club for that as well. I suppose a crossword puzzle would be rather silly."

"James keeps saying I need to start a tea club. Not just for students, but for anyone who wanted to join." He smiled at Billy. "Perhaps you ought to suggest a puzzle club for next term, like Miss Mizuno did with the chess club."
