Janet, Charlie, Crichton, and Archie slipped out of the library. Liz was missing. They were going to find her, fast, and then they were going to get the hell back to the library.

Something moves, jerkily, not far down the hallway. It steps toward you and the smell of rotting flesh drifts on the air.

"Archie...we got one right here."

John raises the gun slowly.

"Oh, blast -- do you smell that? There's another one."

"I smell it." John cranes his neck, looking towards Charlie. "We got another one. Shoot? Hold?"

Kawalsky doesn't look away from the zombie he's leading. "Janet, what's behind us?"

"You're backing us into another hallway, Charlie. If there's one down there..."

"Yeah, okay."

"But at the end of the hall is the door and then we're out across to the dorms."

He made a decision. "John, Archie, try to get 'em to follow. If it attacks, shoot it until it doesn't have a head left. I wanna see how close it'll come to the dorms."

Janet looks behind them. "Nothing yet."

She sees something in the distance, at the far end of the hallway.

"But whatever nothing is, it's going to be here soon enough."

"All right, Archie. Charlie says try to get them to follow. Let's see if they think we're pretty enough to follow..."

John starts slowly, slowly backing away.

"Between the two of us, we had damned well better be!" Archie retorts, matching John step for step.

"Man, zombies are for tv, for movies. Not for school." John shoots Archie a sidelong look, keeping one eye on Zombie #2. "You ever seen anything like this at sea?"

"Hey Cally." John gives Cally a small smile. "Doin okay?"

"Believe me, I thought I had seen it all, and I'm forced to seriously reconsider now." Archie grins.
