Aly was perched on top of her desk again as she watched the students come into the classroom.

"I hope you didn't miss me too much last week though it sounds like Bridge was an excellent substitute." She grinned at Bridge. "I'm sorry to say I don't have pie for you all. Hopefully you won't hold it against me."

"Today we're going to switch things up a bit. This whole semester we've focused on what it's like from the revolutionaries' standpoint. But I spent the past week in my country looking at things from a different angle - from that of the reigning government."

"So today, in small groups or pairs, I'd like you to react to a scenario as you would if you were the government of a country. Go in with all your guns blazing, try to talk to the dissidents, infiltrate them, try to capture them and ship them off into exile, it's up to you. Once you decide a plan of attack, I'm going to tell you how the revolutionaries react to your plan and you can respond once more."

"I'm sorry to tell all you strictly democratic souls, but today, you're all representatives of a monarchy. Your intelligence service has brought information to you of a lost 'true heir' to the throne being spoken about in the streets. A coalition of mainly merchants - your middle class - has started to form around this supposed heir, and the people of the streets seem to be turning towards that banner."

She grinned. "You all have quite good instincts from the stirring things up side, let's see how you do when your objective is order in your country. Any questions?"

She's around for quite a while after class.

Bridge wanders over to talk to Aly, maybe looking a little sheepish.

"Bridge," Aly said in greeting. Maybe looking a little amused.

But then it was Aly so maybe not.

"Hey, Aly. I, um. Heard you talked to Xander yesterday," Bridge says by way of greeting.

"You mean the radio was actually right for once?" Aly replied. "I didn't call him cute though," she added teasingly.

"Well, Seely *did* mention something about a harem... but I have a hard time picturing you or, well, pretty much anyone else he mentioned as being part of a harem."

"You know, I appreciate that," Aly said.

"Thought you might," Bridge says with a grin.

D'anna lingered a little while after class. She didn't really want to talk to her teacher.

However, considering that she'd miss both this class and cheerleading last week, she figured she'd best speak with Aly before heading out. "Ummmm, hi. Uh, Aly?"

"Hey, D'anna," Aly said with a smile. "What's up?"

"Not much. ~~Lie, lie, lie.~~ I just, uh, wanted to apologize for missing class last week." Then she added quitely and very quietly in hopes Aly wouldn't really hear her, "andcheerleadingpractice,sorry."

"Cheerleading practice you'll have to talk to Buffy about," Aly said, having heard fairly well. "I wish you luck with that. I wasn't in class either last week so I can harldy hold you accountable. Everything okay?"

"Sorta-kinda-maybe?" D shrugged.

Since Aly hadn't been there last week when he came back, Bel headed over to talk to her after class.

Aly smiled at Bel. "You're an unexpected but welcome surprise."

"Thanks," Bel said. "I, um, know I missed some classes, but I'll do what I have to to catch up and everything."

"Get notes from a classmate if you can," Aly said. "Otherwise, I should have some copies. And we did a class on explosions, but there's a second one coming up so you can make that up then." She looked at him carefully. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah, I think," Bel said. "I mean, I'm not evil anymore. Not possessed. So, yeah, okay there."

"Always a plus," she agreed.

Isabel waited till most of the class had left and then wandered up. "Hi. I just wanted to see what I needed to do to make up for missing last week."

Aly shook her head. "No need. I wasn't here either so I can't hardly hold you to it." She looked at Isabel more carefully. "You were upset by the class today."

"Thanks." Isabel looked down and shrugged, "I just got back from our planet. I spent the better part of six months as a rebel. You hit a nerve."

She winced though it was barely noticeable. "I guess I did. It didn't go well then," Aly said, watching Isabel. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay, you didn't know," Isabel shrugged. "It didn't. But I'm back here with my friends so that helps."

Aly gave a half-smile. "I was sorry it didn't go well. But I'm glad you're back here with people who care about you as much as they did today. If the class gets to you again, you've my permission to go ahead and leave and we'll figure out something different to makeup."
