The classroom had a big plasma TV at the center of the board, Rose strode in, flashed the students a smile.

"Hope you lot didn't fall sick when Fandom literally went to the fishes." Rose said, entering happily. "I hope you did you're assignments, don't give 'em often you know so this rare occasion, I expect them to be good."

"Today, we are going to talk about --" She made a wavy motion to the TV screen, "The Telly! Won't bore you with the essentials and history and whatnot. Since it's been months since our first class I'd assume you knew what a television set is. We 21st century folk are creatures of our own creation and since the birth of this fancy thing we've been slaves to it from the first black and white TV serials to atrocious reality shows, mindnumbing soap operas and to the truly brilliant TV shows like the Oval Office, Wendy the Werewolf Stalker, Z-Cases and Mr. What and others I know you all like."

"So, I pose this question to you lot, given how long you've been here you must surely have seen your share of shows I'd like you to discuss your favorite shows and why you like them. Easy and fun discussion folks! Have fun!"

"Sweetness!" John would so totally hug her, if, y'know, she wouldn't deck him or make fun of the last time he'd been in a spaceship even though she was totally checking him out like a thing that checks out things.

She laughed, liking John very much, students here were much more fun than the students that peopled her old school. And she was so not checking him out, really, she was just -- concerned.

John had a grin on his face and his hair in his eyes. And? Hotter than that Jack Jerkness guy. Plus? Power of Emo on his side.

"So how soon before this whole ship thing happens?"

"Don't hold your breath for a while, I've no idea where I'd purchase one for a start, plus can't exactly go swanning off now, can I?" She let out an indelicate snort, "It's the problem of being domestic, you get responsibilities and obligations."

But see, Jack has the magical powers of a trenchcoat, although John has his Emo that can power a city so it's a toss-up. But since you're both students there isn't much Rose can do, can she? Not that she's thinking anything. Really.

"Yeah, it's not like you can just... build... one..." JOhn trails off a bit at that last part. He's SO not thinking of building one at Sparky's.

"Can you?" He got a bit of a gleam in his eye, the kind that you get when devouring your body weight in Krackel of the Gods. "I mean, with the right parts? You should come down to SParky's and sketch something out. Plus? Shower big enough for two people. That's where my vodka stock is, what's left of it."

John does not start thinking of an emo-powered spaceship which would be faster than Han Solo's tub of junk with the power of emoooooo

She grinned, "I know one student who'd made a space craft with the help of squirrels."

Emooo powered engines, faster than the speed of light!

"Really? Who? Did it work? DId it work by the power of nuts? Hrm. I'd have to see if my nuts would work with it, or if theyd' be too powerful. That's so cool. Almost better'n my paddlewheel."

"River Tam, she's a mentor of mine, and she was positive it was structurally sound," She said and tilted her head, "She's even used it to travel back to her sector of space."

"That's awesome! Wonder if the squirrels would make one for me. Sounds like I've gotta get to the junkyard with Scorpy," John said half aloud, thinking up plans to build a spaceship.
