Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes. Comfort food. Even when it doesn't necessarily remind you of anything.

Yay, lunch! Turtle grabbed some of everything, and extra cheeseceke-a, and then found a table and ate while she looked over today Wall Street Journal.

Turtle struggled to pull herself away from an absolutely riveting article about how the market was stabilizing thanks to tech stocks, which explained the delayed greeting. "Hey..." Look up, see who's talking, blink a few times to get out of the Wall Street world. "Eyepatch. What's up?"

"I was wondering when would be a good time to get that stock advice."

"Tech stocks," Turtle put in immediately. "They're on the rise, so you might want to hop on one that's still low before the trend starts to cease. Communications if you want something short term. Long term's hard to determine, though, with tech."

Billy set his tray down and wrote what she'd said on a sheet of paper. "That makes sense." he nodded. "Hey would it be considered uncouth if I were to use the fact that for me, this is the future, to figure out what's going to happen before it does?"

Turtle's head tilted against her shoulder and she considered that while considering a forkful of meatloaf. The meatloaf went into her mouth. "I dunno," she said. "It does seem to go against most standards of moral ethics, but I say, if you've got the ability to gain from something like that, use it."

Billy's own moral ethics didn't see anything wrong with it. "Cool." he said. "Out of curiosity, what year is it back home for you?"

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-03-12 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"Same year," Turtle nodded despite the book being written in 1974. "No crazy time traveling for me, I'm afraid."

"Cuts down on the jet lag." Billy grinned.

"That's one way to put it," Turtle responded with a slight smirk back. "I'm pretty glad for it. So much less confusing than it could be."

"Tell me about it. I feel sorry for Aliens or this guy we had here last semester, he was from Anchient Greece."
