Revolutions: Week 8, Period 5

Bridge is sitting cross-legged on Aly's desk as his fellow classmates enter the room. There's also a small table set up at the front of the room with many different kinds of pie.

"Hey, guys. No, before you ask, I didn't overthrow the teacher," he says, glancing over at Jamie. "She just asked me to lead class today, since she can't be here."

"Aaaaaanyway, our discussion topic today actually *does* have to do with Jamie's revolution a few weeks ago," Bridge continues. "Specifically, I want you guys to come up with three ways you'd improve on it. Jamie, you can... uh, come up with three things you'd do differently next time. You can work on your own or in groups if you'd like, it's up to you." He waves at the table of pie. "Once you've presented your suggestions, you can have some pie," he grins. "So... have fun!"

Sam reached out to thwap him, almost without thinking. "I would have chosen different musical numbers. Something more upbeat. People like their revolutions to be bouncy."

"Possibly, locking out the people we knew wouldn't participate in the revolution would've been helpful. More effective barricades?" Parker shrugged, and took some pie. "And maybe croissants."

"Not croissants," Anders objected. "They look like Cylon Raiders and that can't be a good sign."

"For one thing," Steerpike commented, leaning back in his seat. "I would use a far more subtle approach. The frontal assault, as we saw, has limited potential in the short term. But a slow progression to a key position of change is much more likely to give you the lasting change that you would like to see."

Paper airplane time! This time it's more like an origami swan. With the words USAF Zooooomie written on the wings. Parker zinged it over to Kawalsky's desk without even trying to hide what she was doing.

Kawalsky blinked at the swan, then turned and raised an eyebrow at Parker. Then he turned back and set to work on his own origami object. Two minutes later, he'd given up and threw a wad of paper hard at Parker.

Anders chipped in where he could, but for the most part he just sat with his chin in his hands, staring moodily off into the near distance.

Bel hadn't been there for Jamie's revolution, so for that reason and several others, he kept to himself, trying to be inconspicuous.
