Once the class has settled in, Captain Liberty gives them all a smile and says, "Welcome back. Hope you all had a good break, because it's over now and you're not getting it back. Haha. Lucky for you guys we have a pretty easy class today." Though it's said in a way that might make the students question that statement.

"I've said before that a good portion of superheroing is trying to come off in a good light. You might think you're just doing your job, or doing the right thing, but there's more to it than that," she continues. "The things you do can be really public, and will attract attention. Reporters will write about your actions, kids might want to dress up as you for Halloween, and let's not even think of people trying to spin things weird during an election year." Pausing, remembering her background, she says, "Pretend I didn't say that. The fact of the matter is, a lot of people don't want to be saved by someone they think is a jerk.

"Now, for today's class, we're going to have you be interviewed by a real reporter. Your job is to put your best foot forward. It's just that easy," Captain Liberty smiles. "Now, I'd like you all to welcome someone a few of you might know, Rita Skeeter."

Once class is getting up to leave, Captain Liberty calls, and for homework, I just want you all to give me a paragraph or two on how your interview went, and how you'd handle it next time. Bye."

Peter waited his turn and tried his best to think like Nathan.

"Tell me about yourself, little boy," Rita said with a little smirk as she crossed her legs.

"I go by Smart Alec," Peter said. "I'm into heroing so I can help people."

Rita raised her brows. "Well, that's rather general. Couldn't you help people in other ways?"

"True, but if I got into details about that I'd be revealing my secret identity," Peter pointed out.

"Oh," Rita said, nodding as though she found this to be very intelligent.

The quill started to move.

A young boy, aged twelve, tells our lovely reporter about his inability to separate reality from fiction. Surely such a delusion has roots deep within his psyche, but only time and a longer interview will tell.

"Unless I'm affecting your reality as we speak," Peter pointed out.

"Ooh, a possibility!" Rita said in the bright tones of someone speaking to an insane person.

"I do have powers," Peter said. "I could be making illusions right now and you'd never know."

"Of course you could. And so could I," she said, nodding. "I really do have powers."

"Oh yeah?" Peter asked. "What can you do?"

"I'm a witch," she said coolly. "I can do magic."

"Oh yeah?" Peter said, far, far too confident about this. "So can I."

"Really," she asked dryly. "What school did you attend prior to this?"

"I'm not revealing my secret identity," Peter said. "But I will prove I can do magic, just like you can."

Clearly all of Peter's intelligence had gone into hairstyle choices.

"All right," Rita said, sitting back. "Go ahead. I don't even see a wand, so this should be interesting."

Peter had also failed to ask key questions like what kind of magic Rita did, but there were so many reasons why he was known as 'the dreamer' instead of 'the smartest member of the Petrelli family.'

He guessed levitation could work since that seemed like a common enough magical task. He focused on the paper Rita had been writing on and imagined it lifting into the air.

Which it did not.

Peter frowned and tried hand gestures.

Those didn't work either.

"Um," he said, looking worried.

"'Um' is not a spell, as far as I know," Rita said, smirking.

"Normally I can do this," Peter said. He flicked his hands again in case that would help.

Of course normally he hadn't switched powers with Marie either, so the only thing that was ever going to happen here was hand-flicking.

"What a lovely little hand-flick...gesture thing," Rita congratulated.

"Thanks, I've been practicing," Peter muttered.

"Generally speaking, you need a wand," she said lazily.

"...I knew that."

"Of course you did, dearie."

In no way was Peter now fiddling with a pencil and trying to use it as a wand. That would be dorky, and everyone knew that Peter was nothing but suave.
