"I can totally do that," she nodded, laying out a tortilla in a frying pan and letting it heat, then adding already cooked chicken and diced peppers, letting them heat up before she added the cheese. "How've you been? Did you go to the dance?" Dawn hadn't, but she figured other people probably did.

"Thanks, Dawn." Annette replied, watching her cook. It looked easy somehow, but Annette always seemed to mess any part of cooking up. "I've been great, thanks. And yeah, I went with Marco. It was fun...and glittery." She smiled. "How have you been?"

Once the cheese was sufficiently melty, Dawn handed over the quesadilla. "Ooh, Marco's nice. Was it fun like datey fun, or like you think he's going to be a really good friend twenty years from now?" So she was a little nosy.

"I'm good," she smiled, thinking of teaching Sam to dance a couple of nights ago. "Really good."

Taking the quesadilla, she smiled, "Ohh, smells good. Thanks!" Annette pulled a string of melted cheese off a corner end and put it in her mouth. "Mmmm."

Nodding a little, she answered Dawn, "Marco is nice, and fun, and yeah, hopefully he's going to be a really good friend twenty years from now." Cause it wasn't datey fun, was it? He was just Marco and she was just Annette. Friends. There wasn't even any sort of hand holding or anything.

"Did you go to the dance?"

"Friends are important, and nope," Dawn shook her head, "there was some weirdness the night before, and I didn't really feel like going, so we stayed in. Sam's not a real going to dances guy anyway, y'know?" She snacked on a raw pepper.

"Friends are very important," She agreed. "Oh, weirdness?" She might be a little nosy too. "Sam...Winchester?"

"A bunch of us fell asleep watching movies and there was some weird nightmare thing happening," Dawn explained with a shrug, then grinned dopily. "Yup, Sam Winchester. In my opinion, definitely the best of the many Sams available on campus. Not that there's anything wrong with Anders, and I hear Girl!Sam is nice, but Sam's...Sam."

It was possible she was going to send herself into a diabetic coma.

"Nightmares." She shuddered. "I hate nightmares." And lucky for her she hasn't had any for at least a week.

Dawn's grin was catching, "And is Sam your Sam? As in boyfriend?" And Anders. Annette remembers kissing Anders. So it was for a class exercise? It was still a kiss. "I don't think I've met girl Sam yet."

"Me too," Dawn grimaced, and threw her hair back over her shoulder. "Yes, Sam is my Sam, since right before Homecoming." And she was still pretty gleeful about that, thanks. "And I haven't met her either, but she's with Jack Harkness, so she's probably spending all her time thanking someone for making her really really lucky."

Annette laughed, "I'll never keep track of who is with who and how and when and everything that goes with it. Just when I think I know more people than not, I learn knew names and feel really small again. Maybe when I've been here long enough I will finally get it all straight."

"Oh, I gave up on meeting everyone. Just not happening," Dawn rolled her eyes, "I've been here since May and I still meet new people, which is cool, kinda."

She nodded with a grin, "I love meeting new people, I've just to remember names with faces." Annetted indicated her lunch by lifting her tray a little. "Thanks for the quesadilla, Dawn. It looks great!" She turned then to go find a seat, which really wasn't hard since not many students seemed to visit the cafeteria.
