Music is Love: Friday, Third Period

For reasons unknown there are three little kids running around the music room when the students enter.

"HI! HI! HI! HI! HI!" Lorne said hopping around on stage. "I'm Worne! Welcome to Music is Wuv! My bestestsus friends in the world, Awy and Wogan are going to judge you! Sing for us! YAYS!"

When she got up on stage, Molly smiled at wee!Aly, really wishing she'd actually gotten a helmet for her.

"My mother used to sing this to me," she said. Then she started to sing.

I asked my teacher what should I try

Logan listened attentively, then got up and tugged at Molly's shirt. "What's 'kay surah'?"

Molly crouched down so that he wouldn't have to stare up at her. "It's French," she told him. "I think it means, 'what will be'".

"Okay," Logan said, nodding. "S'a pretty song."

Molly smiled. "I'm glad you liked it."

Aly clapped and clapped then ran up to Molly.

"Can I have a hug an' will you teach me the song?"

Molly bent down to pick Aly up and gave her a big hug (not too tight though). I would love to teach you the song," she said. "It will have to wait until after class though. There are still some other people who need to sing."

"We could sing quietly?" Aly asked plaintively, hugging Molly back.

"But you're supposed to be listening to the others sing," Molly said gently. "It wouldn't be fair to them if I distract you."

"Well, okay," Aly said, sighing in a very put upon manner. "I s'pose."

Molly grinned and hugged her again. "I promise I'll teach you the song."

"Yay, promise!" Aly gleed. And she hugged Molly then snuggled into her arms apparently completely content to stay right there for now.

Molly sat down, still holding Aly. "So, do you know why you're five again?" she asked while they waited for the next student to start their song.

"Because I'm not six until months?" she replied.

"Ahhhh, okay. How silly of me not to know that," Molly said with a giggle.

"S'okay, Molly," Aly said, patting her cheek. "I'll remind you."

"What's a sera?" Lorne said looking confused. "It sounds pretty."

"It's a French word," Molly told Lorne. "'Que sera' means what will be, I think. I'm not sure which word means which, but if it is the same as Spanish, 'que' means 'what' so 'sera' would mean 'will be'."

"Huh?"

Wee Lorne looked like his head was about to explode.

Molly gave him a concerned look and sat down on the floor so that he wouldn't have to look up at her. "What's the matter?"

"You used a lot of words," Lorne said crossly. "I don't know what I asked now."

Molly grinned. "I'm sorry," she said. "You asked me what a 'sera' was. It isn't a thing really. It means the same thing as saying 'will be'."

"I thought you might be saying Sarah wrong," Lorne explained in his wee way. "Like... Okay Sarah! Sarah! Whatever will be will beeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

"Nope," Molly said with a small shake of her head. "Just foreign words that sound like okay Sarah. I hope you still like the song?"

"It was very pretty. Thank you!" And then Lorne tried to glomp onto Molly's leg.
