Anatomy, 2/22, Period 3

Elliot had tied her hair back and was wearing her glasses and lab coat, and generally tried to look as not-five-years-old as she possibly could.

"Hey people. Easy class today -- for me, because you get to do all the work because it's your midterm presentations. You have 15 minutes to finalize things in your groups, and then you'll be in front of the class. Aeryn, Chad, Peter, you're up first, then the muscular, digestive and finally skeletal teams."

"And if Chad and Henry could stop by to talk to me at the end of class, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks."

[OOC: I'll be slow but around. SP or handwave the presentations if you need to, but I would appreciate at least a comment saying you're handwaving and how well the group did by next Wednesday.]

Peter Petrelli

Peter had his tracing ready to ~~handwave, zomg totally handwave~~ show his part of the presentation with his teammates.

*gets the markers*

Neil Perry

Neil was ready ~~in a totally handwavey way!!~~ to give his part of the presentation on the Skeletal System.

He even had visual aids!

Yasutora Sado

Chad was able to do his part of the ~~holy crap handwavey~~ presentation without coughing too much in between, so he considered it a success.

Another small coughing fit came over Chad just as he approached Dr. Reid as she requested, postponing the moment he could address her and say, "Sorry for missing that thing on Friday, Dr. Reid. I got kinda caught up."

*grabs some tape!*

"It's not a big deal -- I knew I'd catch you in class," Elliot said, smiling. "I just wanted to chat with you for a couple minutes and kind of get a sense for what you want me to do as a mentor. Help me help you, sort of."

Chad turned his head to cover another cough and then, sniffling slightly, he shrugged. "I dunno," he admitted. "What did you, uh...wanna do as a mentor?"

Henry had prepared a detailed, ~~completely handwaved~~ speech.

Henry trudged up to Dr. Reid. He'd been so caught up working on the HJ7 that he'd forgotten the mentoring meeting.
He was currently wearing the world's most guilt-ridden face.

Elliot took a deep breath and went into her shpiel. "Basically I see my role as being a guiding influence, but also a friend. You know, talking to you about colleges and jobs and all of that, but also being a shoulder to cry on if you break up with your girlfriend, or just miss your parents, or your home world is in some bizarro superhero civil war and you're torn between sides." She decided she shouldn't use Cassie as an example, and hastily added, "Not that anyone's come to me with that one yet."

"I'd like to check in, oh, every few weeks, at least once a month, but you can always give me a call and I'll come running if disaster strikes. Is that cool? And do you want a hanky or cough drops or anything? It sounds like you just have a cold, but I know how much those suck."

Elliot gave him a reassuring smile. "Hey, Henry. Is everything going okay?"

Peter Griffin

Peter had ~~handwaved~~ a few bits of info he got off of Wiki. He'd b.s. if he had to.

Chad blinked. Not that anyone could tell with the hair over his eyes, and then he politely hid a cough behind his hand and shook his head a little. "M'good. Jus' getting over it, I hope."

He only answered that part at the moment, because he wasn't quite finished processing the other stuff. Slowly, though, he worked up an opinion. "Guess that sounds cool..."

Dr. Reid did realize she was talking to Chad, right? About talking?

"Check in at the clinic if it sticks around too long," Elliot cautioned.

She hopped up on her desk. "You guess? Tell me if it's too much, or too little, or if you have some specific thing you want to do right now, and I can do it. Just not next week because I'm heading out of town, but other than that I'm yours."

Henry nodded. Edward hadn't beaten anyone up lately. That counted as okay.

Okay, not going to the clinic. Clinics were bad.

And not thinking of other implications of the phrase 'I'm yours,' either, Yasutora. That kind of mentoring would probably be frowned upon...

Another shrug. "I got nothin' at the moment. But I'll keep it in mind."

"Okey-doke," Elliot agreed amiably. "In that case, I will see you next Thursday."

"Great!" Elliot chirped. "Anyhow, I just wanted to talk to you a little bit about the mentoring thing. I can't do to much to help you with a medical career in your time, but I can certainly guide you, answer questions, stuff like that. And like I told Chad -- I'm also here to be a friend if something weird happens in your personal life. I have a lot of experience in walking people through rough times." And for "people," read "Old JD." "I'd like to meet with you once a month or so, or you can call me whenever. How's that sound to you?"

Aeryn Sun

Aeryn did her part of the ~~soooo handwavey~~ presentation more or less okay, though she may have mangled a word or five.

"It sounds like a good idea." Henry replied.

Ray Kowalski

Ray was also there to do some presenting on the skeletal system. He knew way more about the bones than he'd ever wanted to know.

He had some visual aids too. Poorly drawn but still!

"Then I think we are on the same page," Elliot said. "Anything in particular weighing you down right now?"
