Aly looked just a little gleeful as she waited for students to arrive in the Danger Room. Actually substitute very for just a little and that's where she was. If she was embarrassed about the weekend, it wasn't showing. Once everyone arrived, she spoke up.

"Inside this," she said, holding up a small clay globe, "is blazebalm. It's an explosive made with magic from my world. Once the blazebalm touches oxygen, it ignites. It's quite a bit stronger than C4 for those of you who want to make the comparison." She turned and threw the globe far away from the group of students. When it hit the ground, it exploded in a flash of fire and light.

She turned back to the students. "I thought about giving a midterm today, but doing the first of our two classes on explosives sounded a lot more interesting to me." Aly grinned. "Hopefully it will be for you too. Normally when you learn about explosives, you have quite a few lessons on theory, safety, and chemistry before you even get to think about touching actual material. We, however, have the Danger Room so you'll be able to ~~play~~ experiment a bit today."

"I know quite a few of you already have explosives experience," she glanced at ~~if they were present~~ Charlie, Sam, Tyler, Aeryn. "If that's the case, a lot of this is going to be review for you, and I apologise. If you'd like something a little more difficult, I'm sure we can arrange it. For now, if you could keep an eye out for those who are less experienced."

"We're going to deal with improvised devices today, and two in particular, but first you do need to know a bit about the theory," Aly gave a concise but throrough lecture on explosive materials and the science behind them. When she was done, she didn't quite say 'now that that's out of the way,' but she was obviously more interested in the practical aspects of making things go boom.

"The two explosives we're going to work with today are two improvised explosives. You don't always have access to military material and you definitely don't always need it. One of the most common explosives in this word - and also one of the easiest to make is anfo - fertiliser and fuel oil. It sounds simple but a just a ton or so in a the right place could blow up a cargo ship and the harbor it's sitting in. The other is less an explosive than a weapon. Molotov cocktails - half gasoline, and half motor oil - you've probably already heard of them if your from this world. They're easy to make and can do a lot of damage especially against gasoline engines or wood structures."

"There's hundreds of other kinds of improvised explosives and we're going to talk more about tactics in another few weeks. What I want you to do today is to make anfo into a bomb and also make the Molotov cocktails. After you have them ready, you can blow things up."

Basically what needs to happen here is fuel oil and the fertiliser need to be mixed up. As soon as that happens, the fertiliser starts oxidizing and will be ready to explode.

After it's mixed, there are pipes for the mixture to be tamped into and fuses to be added.

Play with it handwavily. If you want to screw up and have it ignite too soon, that's fine, but Danger Room so you won't get hurt. Just a flash and a bit of a bang to show you screwed up.

Mix half gasoline, half motor oil (so the gasoline will stick) and pour it into a glass bottle and stop it up with a rag.

Plenty of supplies for everyone.

The Danger Room is set up so there's a bunch of military-looking structures, a few walls, a bunch of cars, ~~really anything you want to mod~~.

Go ahead and throw the molotov cocktails and see what you can make explode or place an anfo bomb and run the fuse out for maximum effect.

Yes, she likes explosives. She's having fun.

I want to blow things up now!

Also, this is not the class wee!Aly would have taught. She'd've preferred to focus on mannyplation for cookies. And also how to throw plates at people.

Isabel's glaring at a certain member of the class.

Kawalsky wasn't really paying attention to anything in particular. His attention was, in fact, wandering, so when he looked around and saw Isabel glaring at him, he wondered what the hell was going on, then realized, then couldn't resist the urge to roll his eyes and sigh quietly as he looked away again.

Which only made Isabel more annoyed. She waited until the lecture was over and then stalked over. "What the hell were you thinking?"

"Right about now? Blowing myself up to see if the Danger Shop makes it tingle instead of the crazy burning dismembering death."

"That's not what I'm talking about and you know it," she said, banging her hand down on the desk. "He was hurt and you hit him?"

M. Parker

Ummm...yeah, pay no attention to my dating. It's the 20th. I know that. Really.

"I'm not getting into this with every person who feels like being Jack Harkness' personal bodyguard."

"Well then maybe you shouldn't have left what essentially amounts to a signed note across his chin," Isabel bit out.

Bridge Carson

After stopping by his office and seeing the note, Deadpool was unable to resist the siren song of explosives and a hot chick who wasn't a nun and therefore wasn't avoiding.

"Go boom?"

Aeryn Sun

He shook his head. "I like you, Isabel, but this is none of your business. I get being pissed that I hit your friend, but I'm not going to suck up to every pal of his looking to throw a threat around or yell at me to make themselves feel better."

*much giggling* *encourages mini-blonde*

Aly grinned and tossed a clay globe lightly at him, trusting his reflexes to catch it. "Figured you'd show up."
