Janet flips the library sign to "open," then goes inside and logs in. Maybe without the prof there, she can get some actual work done. Or maybe she can just sleep.
Piper blinks at all the weird library selections. "I really shouldn't be surprised about that."
"My room... er, sister and I are partners. We're working on a catering service project. Figured these management books could come in handy," Piper explained.
"You'd think I wouldn't be either," said Janet dryly. "And yet every day, someone comes in here and knocks my socks off again."
"So, catering, huh? What with the new chef and all, I wouldn't be surprised if you and your sister could make a lot of money catering for the students living in the dorms." Janet snorted. "My roommates and I order groceries off the internet. Costs a fortune, none of us can cook worth a damn so it's all sandwich stuff and a lot of fruit, but it beats the cafeteria hands down."
She stopped typing and loaded up the results of her search. "Okay, so we've got three or four books on the second floor in the--" Janet leaned closer to the monitor. "Huh. One in Special Collections. A Magical Feast. Wow, and it's not even marked dangerous. Wonder what that's about."
"I haven't even gone to the cafeteria. Of all the weird stuff that goes on at this school, I think the cafeteria food is easily the scariest. That's why I cook most of my own food. Who knows, maybe I'll stop by and cook for you and your roommates one day," Piper said, smiling warmly.
Piper blinks up at the mention of A Magical Feast. "Magic, huh? It's like I can't get away from it now Sounds fascinating."
"You know, you could be right about that," said Janet. "Jack, one of my roommates, said that he found chicken in his chocolate pie." She shuddered.
"You can cook?" asked Janet eagerly. "Do you give lessons? Please, God, tell me you give lessons. I have no desire to take home ec, but I would sell my soul love to have cooking lessons."
"Kind of a neat name, yeah," said Janet. "I don't get that whole magic thing. Never had to deal with it before I came here, and now it seems like everyone and his brother's a magic user. You could check the book out, if you wanted. I don't think it has any world-destroying capabilities."
"He was sick after," said Janet. "It was his own fault, though. He knew better. Lessons would be nice. Thanks. Got any science homework you need help on? I'm pretty good at it."
She grinned. "I'm going to have to go and get the book from Special Collections." She glanced around the library. No one was there. "Wanna come with?"
"Wrong food combinations can have that affect on people," Piper said. "I'm not in any science classes this semester, but I know eventually I'll have to take a class. Math is the subject I really hate dealing with more than anything."
"Math? I'm good at that," said Janet. "Let me get my card and we can go."
(OOC: I'm going to start a new post "locked" to Piper and Janet, since the Special Collections visits are restricted to whoever the library staff sneaks takes in with them. And since Special Collections is...weird...feel free to improvise on it.)

"I've never given lessons before, but I don't see why I couldn't. Sure, why not?"
Piper thought about the book for a moment. "You know, I'll check that book out, too. What's the harm?"
