Novice's Guide to Villains and Villainy - Week 6, Period 3 (Danger Shop)

"As you would have learned with Sam I Am, not all villains make themselves known. In today's case they may even seem to be in a position of legitimate authority. Legitimate authority should not always be recognised, but that's a discussion for Professor Alianne's class. The purpose of today's class is simple. Deal with the villain in your own personal way."

The Danger Shop was designed to resemble a standard early 20th century mental hospital ward. In fact, it was the ward described in One Flew Over a Cuckoos Nest. The patients/inmates were here, ambling around, being moddable as they often were.

Unfortunately, the formidable Nurse Ratched was here too. Well, time to deal with her, either alone, convincing the other patients to rise up against her, getting your other classmates to help out or just torching the place. Whatever works.

Pippi wonders if anybody would like to work together against Nursey...

Feeling generally uncomfortable in a mental hospital, one look at Nurse Ratched made River hide behind a chair.

"Don't like her," River muttered glaring at Nurse Ratched from behind the chair.

"Hey, River, are you okay?" Z asked her, crouching down next to her.

"No," River said, still hiding behind the chair. "She's nasty."

"Yeah, she kinda is. Why don't you help me figure out how to get rid of her?" Z suggested. "Then she can't be nasty any more."

River glanced up at Z. "Want me to kick her down?"

"That would definitely help," Z said. "Go for it."

River gave Z a worried look. "Should stop kicking people. Makes Blair upset."

"Well, Blair has weird ideas sometimes, and sometimes you have to kick people. Like, if we take out this lady, you won't have to hide from her any more."

"I completely agree, but there's also the option of hiding until the class is over," River said. "Which Blair would approve of."

Z gave River an 'are you for real' look and said, "But then we've let the bad guy get away to terrorize other people."

River rolled her eyes, shrugged, and made a sudden dive over the chair, rolling on to her feet. She made a sweeping kick at Nurse Ratched's legs, making the woman lose balance and land on the floor. With a foot placed firmly on the nurse's chest, River looked at Z for approval.

Z applauded, then came over with her SPD-issued handcuffs to secure the prisoner. "You are under arrest for scaring River. I'm sure there's some sort of law against that."

River beamed at Z. There should definitely be a law against that.

Pippi is concerned about River. But Thursday and Z already already seeing to her and she didn't want to make her friend feel crowded.

So she resolved to do something about making this place more cheerful. She opened up a set of curtains to let in a little more natural light. Pippi wanted to open the window for fresh air, but there was a metal grate over the window, blocking her access to it.

Not one to be daunted by such things, Pippi ripped the grate off the wall and set about getting the window open.

Without breaking the glass of course. Somebody could get hurt if there were broken glass around.

Layla grinned and followed Pippi's lead. The room had quite a few pots with dying plants, so she went around and brought them all back to life, making each one bright and blooming.

"Okay." Pippi said pointing at Layla. "That's awesome."

She tapped hard on the window sill to get the window free from the layers of paint and finally managed to force it open. Chances are, anybody not as strong as her won't be able to force it closed again.

There's now a completely unblocked open window in the ward, and Pippi starts working on another one.
