Tremble Foolish Mortals: The Gods and You , Class Six [Period 5, Thursday]

Once again the class was meeting in the Danger Shop, which was set up to look like the kind of television studio boardroom you'd find all over Los Angeles. Ares looked especially sulky today.

"My half brother Hercules," he said. "Was a schulb. Half-god, half-mortal, and just because he had one of those strength of twenty men deals going on, thought he was better than both. The he gets picture deals, he gets television shows, I mean, a guy can't watch Aeon in peace anymore without coming across the schmuck."

"So today I'm not going to talk about Hercules," he touched a control, causing holograms of several different people to appear. "Since these television writers apparently know more about members of my family than I do, they're going to talk about Hercules."

He waved at the students. "Go on you little hellbeasts, have fun."

Jerry finished cleaning his knives and placed them back into their sheath. "You know a lot about weapons, boy? You a soldier?" He was curious.

"My father was." Billy said. "Taught me a lot. Later I was trained by a family of ninjas." Bragging to a hologram? Who me?

Jerry was impressed. "Smart father, passing along knowledge to his son." Very good strategy indeed. "And I'm assuming you know how to fight, what with ninja training?" Jerry liked him all ready.

"Yeah I do. What, are you the stunt coordinator?"

"No, siree. I'm the head writer, thank you very much." Jerry seemed proud of his position. "You have a question about Hercules?"

"Yeah, actually, where do you get most of your inspiration for the series?"

"From real life." Jerry answered matter-of-factly. "It's usually when I'm out ~~hunting victims~~ paintballing."

"You draw parallels between paintballing and Greek Mythology?"

"Paintballing is a way of life. It's a philosophy, it applies to the show very nicely." Jerry was firm in his answer.

Billy hadn't actually seen a full episode, merely bits and pieces, but he'd heard of some of the things that had happened on it. Talking to this guy made him think he understood why the crack.

"Can you give an example?"

Jerry hadn't expected that question. He frowned and thought about it.

"I can't come up with any at the moment, but that's doesn't mean they don't exist."

"What's your favorite episode?" Billy asked, suspecting the answer.

ooc: yay Hercules and Xena crack!

Jerry smiled and laughed. "I don't think I could pick just one, son." He admitted. "I like them all, especially the ones that features Ares, which is almost all of them." He let out a low chuckle. "But I guess I have to choose, don't I?"
