Tremble Foolish Mortals: The Gods and You , Class Six [Period 5, Thursday]

Once again the class was meeting in the Danger Shop, which was set up to look like the kind of television studio boardroom you'd find all over Los Angeles. Ares looked especially sulky today.

"My half brother Hercules," he said. "Was a schulb. Half-god, half-mortal, and just because he had one of those strength of twenty men deals going on, thought he was better than both. The he gets picture deals, he gets television shows, I mean, a guy can't watch Aeon in peace anymore without coming across the schmuck."

"So today I'm not going to talk about Hercules," he touched a control, causing holograms of several different people to appear. "Since these television writers apparently know more about members of my family than I do, they're going to talk about Hercules."

He waved at the students. "Go on you little hellbeasts, have fun."

"Nnnno. He's a...do you need a dictionary? Melissa! Get this girl a dictionary!" Melissa wasn't within earshot. "He's not real, kid! Pure fiction. Granted, myth before fiction, but fictional nonetheless."

"What gave it away?" Rob deadpanned. "No, it's not part of my contract."

She waved her hand about, perhaps indicating his unpleasant face. His tone didn't affect her. "So, let me get this straight - Hercules is only around when he has a part to play?"

Rob stared and there was a tiny blood vessel behind his eye that was starting to make itself known through a slight twitch in his left eye. "Yes. That's it exactly. Kevin Sorbo is really Hercules."

He made waving motions at Melissa to get rid of the delusional girl.

"I'm sorry. Rob is much too big-headed to talk to you any more," Melissa said in such a way that someone might think it was a compliment. She gave Annette a sincere, regretful look. "Bye-bye now!"

Annette frowned but turned around to leave. Happy Camper needed to take a chill pill.

And he just wasn't very bright, was he?
