Film and Lit, 2/8/07

Daisy was looking even more tired than usual. There were several board game boxes at the front of the class room, and she was slouched in her arm chair with a big mug of coffee.

"Okay, guys, we're going to take a break from the 'Lit' part of this class, this week, and take a look at a different kind of adaption." She hit play on her remote, and Hint started playing. "This is Hint. Based on the board game, which you see up here. Watch the movie. Play the game. Discuss how they managed to come up with a movie out of a damned board game."

[ooc: somewhat lame, alas, but it's still budget week, and we've got a stack of tables to format. Yesterday was our blessedly light day, back to the grind, now. . . . OCD on its way is up]

Boy should not make up his own nicknames.

Constable H. Dane

Hamlet was irked that Zack had beaten him to his own first choice nickname.

"Despite being a boardgame, I can see Hint as being one of the few that you could create a movie out of. It's based on the most basic elements of traditional murder mystery stories, so by reforming those into an actual mystery story, you could conceivable have a decent movie out of it, depending on the quality of writers and actors. Hungry Hungry Hippos, on the other hand, would be much more difficult to fashion a movie out of."

"Communism is always a red herring," Weiss said.

JD looked up drowsily from the bit of drool that had accumulated on his desk. "There's a fish in this movie?"

"Red herring, dude. Like Las Vegas murders," Weiss said.

"Oh, right, gotcha."

JD nodded, a bit too enthusiastically.

So it's the guy from Scooby Doo! Awesome!

JD is trying to watch, but, sadly, is fading in and out. He's doing that sudden jerk thing each time he wakes himself back up.

Zero selected Miss Red by biting her game piece and dragging it to start.

Hamlet grabbed Professor Plum and put it on the start next to Zero's piece. Purple was close to black, right.

"Do you need any help moving that?" he asked the pink kitten.
