Guitar, Period 4 Thursday

“Today, it’s guitar playing day,” El said. “And thus, we shall start on one of the most important parts of guitar playing. Loosening up the fingers. I know that you have all been trained on picks. But I want you to set all of those aside. We don’t need them for now. Forget about your other hand, and the associated chords. We don’t need those for now either. Just loosen up your fingers and make them dance across the strings. I’ll be walking around to assist.”

[[OOC: Sorry for the cop-out post. Combination of tough week and a complete lack of knowledge on how to play guitar. I promise next week will be much more interesting. *nods*]]

Chad actually learned and prefered playing without a pick, so that part was nothing; it was the focusing on just one hand thing that gave him some complication.

The temptation to use his second hand is irritatingly strong, so Shawn has actally taken to hiding it loosely behind his back while he strums. It takes away the temptation, at least.

Nadia figured this was worth a shot. A lot of the music she favored had relatively complex fingering to it, so she started in on that, getting some basic notes out of the strings without worrying about the frets or any of that nonsense.
