Engineering 101 - Wednesday Period 2, Lesson Five, February 7

Geordi was seated at his desk as the students came into the classroom. He waited until everyone had sat down and the noise had quietened down before he stood up and walked around to the front of his desk so he could begin that day's class.


"Good morning," he said in his usual cheerful voice, "today we're going to be covering Biomechanics,".

The students would also find the following handouts on their desks.

"Now for today's lesson, I would like you to draw something relating to the study of biomechanics," there were drawing pads and pencils on each of the students desk, "this can be anything that you think is relevant,"

Rikku puts her hand up nervously. "I don't get it." She squints at the handouts and scratches her head. "What do these cell-thingies have to do with airships?"

Geordi smiled, "Engineering doesn't just cover spaceships," he said in response, "it's a very broad subject area and spaceships is just one part of that,"

"Oh, I see." She considered. "So this bio-stuff ... is like, living things? People and plants and stuff?"

"It covers all aspects of living organisms," Geordi said.

Lana stopped in at the beginning of class to talk to the teacher. "Mr. LaForge? I'm Lana Lang, Jim Ellison's roommate." She thought that sounded better than 'girlfriend' for these purposes. "He's sick today and won't be able to make it to class."


[OOC: Jim Mun's computer is dead and thus Jim is sick as well. :( ]

"That's fine Lana," he replied, "would you be able to give the handouts from today's class to him?"

"Of course," Lana said with a smile. "And I'll make sure he studies, too."
