Abby was on the phone when the students entered the danger shop; arguing with someone about a Caf-Pow! delivery. "You're already one day late. I can't be held responsible for my actions if you don't get it here today. No, that's not a threat against you. I'm a high school teacher, it's not like I'm going to come after you or anything. It's just that I've accidentally killed the wrong person already because I didn't drink enough Caf-Pow!, I don't want that to happen agai-hello? Hello?"

Abby shook her head and slammed down the phone. "Stupid delivery men." Pointing to the stools in the lab, she stalked over to the whiteboard to start the lecture. "I'm not in the best of moods today so lets try getting through the lecture quickly so you can go do your crime scene work. Today we're talking about trace evidence. It's the itty bitty things that are found at crime scenes that you'll be responsible for collecting, cataloging and identifying. Trace evidence includes hairs, fibers, soils, botanical materials, residue from gunshot or explosives." Abby gave a handwavy lecture on using microscopes and lab equipment to test evidence. "Basically, you're going to be collecting everything and bringing it back to the lab. Most of it will be crap, but some will help you solve the crime and identify the killers."

Walking to the door of the lab, Abby walked through, motioning the students to stand with her around an outdoor pool. The water was drained from the majority of the pool, leaving a few dirty feet of water in the deep end and two bodies in the shallow end. "There was a party here last night, lots of drinking and dancing and two deaths. Some say the men just had too much drink, some say they committed suicide. It's your job to gather as much trace evidence as you can and use it to discover what happened."

Pointing to a stack of rubber waders, Abby stood back to let the students put them on and climb down into the pool. "This is Aziraphale and not-Wilson." Abby glared a little at Neil and shook her head. "Apparently when I've not had enough caffeine, people are a little fuzzy to me. In my defense, he looks very similar. Whatever. Neil deserves to have his murder avenged as well. Remember to get the trace evidence from the water in the pool and the bodies. Go for it."

The water is kinda icky and cold but full of lots of trace evidence including gray button, black button, dirt, leaves, bits of food, carpet fibers, floaty bits of food and party debris.

[ooc: Feel free to mod whatever you'd like in the water (within reason). Broots, try not to faint and drown.]

Neil and Phale are lying close to each other in the shallow end of the pool, looking pretty dead.

[Neil and Phale aren't really dead, so normal playing rules apply. Don't do anything to the character without checking with the mun first. Also, there are two dead bodies, whee! Talk to one, talk to both...it's up to you!]

Use the microscopes and various handwavy equipment to test and identify the trace evidence. Use it to build a scenario of what happened.

Abby is pacing in front of the bad guys, grilling them about how much caffeine they had been drinking today. There was a movie mogul, a crime boss, a tree hugging hippie, a dotcommer and a federal judge.

Ami picked up all the various leaves, buttons and fibers. She also picked up a party hat, a plastic cup and a bow tie.

Lana Lang

Aziraphale lay sprawled out on his back, trying to look convincingly dead and yet not actually dead.

The fact that he kept looking around to see what was going on may or may not have aided in this endeavor.

Lana carefully picked up and bagged every bit of trace evidence she could find - the button, dirt, leaves, food, carpet fibers, and some of the party debris that looked interesting.

Neil, was actually quite enjoying himself. He got to do a little acting...okay so he was playing dead but still it amused his darker sense of humor and if his father asked, he was garnering good will with a teacher.

Perfect compromise.

The Neil body was sprawled out on his stomach, head to the side simply staring.

Lana looked more than slightly disturbed at seeing Mr. Phale and Not!Wilson lying dead together. It was just too much like some of her nightmares. "Hello, Mr. Phale," she said quietly. "So, um, time and cause of death? Any other injuries or anything that would show up on a toxicology report?"

Neil definitely looked a little too dead for her comfort. Especially when he looked so much like Dr. Wilson. "Hi, Neil," she said quietly. "Thanks for helping out. So, um, time and cause of death? Any other injuries or anything that would show up on a toxicology report?"

Lana carefully examined all the trace evidence she'd collected and began trying to figure out what must have happened.

Ami looked at the adviser of her Chess Club. "Hello Mr Aziraphale. Um. I won't ask how you are. Can you tell me your time of death, cause of death, toxicology report and any non-death-causing injuries?

"Hi Neil. You look very dead. Can you tell me your time and cause of death please? And any other injuries?"

Neil remained perfectly still for just a hair beyond a beat, then he sat up smartly, hopefully not surprising Lana...too much.

"Time of death, 10:07, cause of death was drowning. Toxicology report would reveal less than one beer consumed, no other findings in my blood. I have bruises on my shoulders and chest as well as defensive injuries on my hands."

Reaching to one of his handouts, he held it up to Lana.

"This contains the trace you would find."

The bag contains, black thread from under fingernail, ripped black fabric that was caught on jacket, smear of BBQ sauce from shoulder

"Hello, Miss Lang," Aziraphale replied, with a reassuring smile. "Just doing a bit of acting, my dear. Probably not very well, either."

He nodded at the questions and said, "Time of death was 10:03, and it would appear that I was drowned. And the, er, toxicology report says that I had less than one beer to drink."

[ooc: *facepalms* Sorry, I stole Neil's TOD. *is ashamed*]

Sitting up with a grin, Neil reeled off.

"Time of death, 10:07, cause of death was drowning. Toxicology report would reveal less than one beer consumed, no other findings in my blood. I have bruises on my shoulders and chest as well as defensive injuries on my hands."

He then held up the handout.

"Here is the trace the nasty evil murdering type or types left behind for you."

"Hello, Miss Mizuno," he replied, a little cheerfully for a dead body. "My time of death was 10:03, and I drowned. The tests show I had less than a single beer to drink, but I do have some injuries. Bruises on my chest and on my knuckles, and a broken finger."
