Adventuring Survival Tactics, Period 4, A Classroom, 2/2/07

Today, the classroom had pillows. Lots and lots of pillows. The Doctor was standing, with a smug grin on his face. When everyone had gathered, he spoke.

"Sex. If you're going to get all righteous and uptight on me, you're officially excused out the door right now and you can go watch Davey and Goliath clips on YouTube or whatever it is you boring people do. Anyone leaving?"

He paused, just in case anyone did.

"Now this isn't your stupid and silly tab a into slot b lesson. That... well, frankly, that's boring. I'm sure Mr. Harkness could share his expertise for multiple, well, yes, I'm not here to talk about what two humans can do with their block and tackle, right? This is about what happens when you get really friendly with a nice blue girl with mandibles or a scaly fellow who doesn't have lips. So now, please bear with me."

And then the doctor launched into a lengthy lecture. With gestures. Dolls and bizzare plushies as Visual aids. And some possibly psychologically scarring content about what one does with horns, mandibles, scales, tails, and, of course, tentacles.

"So now, pair up, one of you pretend to be a creature with different physiology, and chat each other up. If you need some ideas, there's some tentacle porn magazines under some of the pillows. No actual sex in my classroom, please. I'd get sacked, and that would be a bad thing. So... go ahead and do what comes naturally, eh?"

"It.... didn't come up," the Doctor said. "Plain and simple."

"Didn't come up?" Rose repeated in disbelief. "I asked, who are you, you said 'I'm the Doctor', asked what are you, you just repeated same chapter and verse, add a few 'stupid apes' and 'Time Lords' then shake. "

She paused before she found herself in full rant, and that rant she saved for her Doctor, if she'll ever see him again.

"Anyway, the alien bird princess was I think one of our fun ventures with Jack landing us at the center of trouble. Still fuzzy on the details how you engineered our escape after the wedding, recall the running parts pretty well though." Rose was grinning by the end of the narration. Their better days indeed.

"You know, I should get you to talk to my class sometime," the Doctor said. "Just so they know my advice is, in fact, applicable."

"Not all of it," she replied automatically then realized what the Doctor was really saying. "Me? Talk in your class? You're kidding me, yeah?"

"I'm serious," the Doctor said. "If you're interested, I mean."

She suddenly felt shy, which was strange. She looked down then looked up at him a hesitant smile on her lips. "I'm interested, I'm very interested."

"Good. We can work out the details later," he said. "Anything else you stop by to reminisce about?"

Rose felt proud the Doctor asked her to speak in his class, wasn't every day occurence that happening but his question brought back the reason why she was lurking about in the first place.

"Usually, I'm here for reminiscing alone but after I came across Jack in the hall," she nodded to the ghostly looking Jack, "I couldn't just let him go by alone." Rose looked at the Doctor. "I'm not going to lose him again, too, Doctor. Not while I'm still breathing. Do you know what this is, why these things are attacking?"

"Haven't the faintest," the Doctor admitted. "Was going to do some research in the TARDIS."

Rose's first instinct was to do the same but she stopped, not her TARDIS besides, she saw a poster on the way to the class. Best check the local library first, domestic approach so to speak.

"I'm going to head to the library," she informed him, "See if there's anything on record that might help us on this."

"I'll let you know," the Doctor said with a nod.

She smiled. "Knew I could count on you," then hugged him, needing to feel that tangible reassurance from him. "Thank you, I'll call Clark as well to help out."

"Fantastic," the Doctor said. "And let him know I'd like to have a chat with him. Alien to alien."

Well now, if that isn't enough to send Rose on edge. Clark and the Doctor. Her sort of boyfriend and her... well, her Doctor. "Right, alien-to-alien. I'll mention that." She looked at him, alarmed, "No, sharing of embarrassing stories about me, yeah?"

Rose looked at him skeptically for a second or two, keeping another eye at Jack. "Alright, I trust you." She said eventually, then began to follow Jack out the door. "See you later, good luck with your research, I'll call if something happens."
