Tremble Foolish Mortals: The Gods and You , Class Four [Period 5, Thursday]

The class had handwavily been told to assemble in the Danger Shop this lesson, after they all arrived there, Ares appeared.

"Okay," he said. "Today, barring another unforseen visit, we are going to talk about the dear old parents, Zeus and Hera."

"Zeus and Hera were the King and Queen of the gods, and it's kind of a funny story, you see, old Grandpa Cronos had heard through the grapevine that one of his kids would overthrow him. His solution? Swallow his kids whole, right as Grandma Rhea popped the little suckers out. Now, Grandma finally got tired of this, and eventually managed to swap Little Baby Zeus for a stone. Dad grows up, overthrows Chronos, and releases all his brothers and sisters, and divvys up the loot, yay.

"So that leaves Mom and Dad in charge, you'd think everything would be gravy? Right? Wrong. You see Dad has a bit of a wandering eye, which Mom probably would have less of a problem with if Dad didn't keep getting the girls pregnant and providing me with you wouldn't believe how many bastard half-siblings.

"Now, you're probably all wondering what this has to do with you. You see, having your parents fight is a terrible thing, and when said parents are two very powerful gods, well, let's just say I'm not talking emotional trauma wise. Which brings me to today's class." Ares gestured and a man and woman appeared. "These two are holographic presentations of my parents, as near as I could make them, and you lot are going to save their marriage."

Jack was looking mildly puzzled as the lecture progressed. "So does that mean Mom and Dad are brother and sister?" he muttered under his breath.

Not that Jack was one to judge - however people wanted to live their lives was fine with him - but he wondered if that might be why Ares thought he was a god.

Valentine is indeed staring ahead during the lecture. The thing is, he was out late last night, and he's asleep. The fact that his face is pretty much a constant might be saving his butt again.
