Aly was totally not pouting at the stack of freshly baked pie on her desk. It was frowning, really. And not because she was anti-pie in any way, but because those lovely pies had been the notes and materials for her lesson today just minutes ago.

She looked up from her scowling as the class found their seats. "So. We have pie today instead of class notes. Which really. I'm perfectly okay with." She glanced at one of the TAs. "Want to go grab some forks and plates so we can at least enjoy it?"

"Since I'm not going to try to redo all that," she gestured vaguely at the pies, "right now, we'll go for a different activity. The past few weeks we've discussed what would move you to revolt against a government. Today, we'll put that into practice a bit." Aly reached for the class list and ~~pouted~~ scowled once more as she realised that too was pie.

"Right. Three groups. One's the representatives of the government - a monarchy, yes," she said with a smirk. "The second group is formed of potential revolutionaries and the third, the general people on the street. It's gaining the support of the masses that will allow a popular rebellion - as opposed to a coup d' état of some sort - that allows a revolution to gain momentum and hopefully eventually succeed. Today, we're going to work on gaining momentum."

She listed off the groups - of course they were totally random, really - writing them on the whiteboard as she went.

Aly grinned mischievously back at the class. "Makers of mischief and revolution? Feel free to decide on what exactly you're rebelling against. Stalwart supporters of Her Majesty's government? Obviously you don't want the reactionaries to succeed. Both of your groups need to focus on gaining the support of the people and possibly finding supporters in your opposing camp."

"If you have any questions, ask them now or during class. We'll add some more factors into play next week."

[OOC: Go ahead and invent why you're rebelling, why the government should stand, fun flying horses, anything you like. Unaffiliated peoples? If a group convinces you to join them, go ahead and tag into their camp and start working on your friends. Feel free to try to convince people in anyway other than actual violence or threats, thank you very much. Aly may be poking her head into discussions, the camps, etc. Feel free to ignore her or try to convince her join up. OCD is ~~coming~~ up]

"There appears to be strawberry rhubarb and lemon meringue too. And-- hey." Parker smiled, and snitched a bit of pie crust from his plate. "At least you didn't get arrested. So yeah, I'd say you're recovered."

Bridge snorts. "I'm kind of surprised I *wasn't*, all things considered."

"Considering how much was going on, I think the authorities had better things to do," Parker said with a wince. "How are other things, though? I haven't seen you since just after the Teeny Terror and the Big Horny Guy took off through a wormhole." She raised her eyebrows. "Have you gotten your powers back yet?"

"When I woke up Monday morning," Bridge says, carefully avoiding mentioning who he'd woke up *with*.

"Yay," Parker said, looking relieved. "And, um... have you listened to the podcasts? About, oh. New people in town?"

"Rory mentioned he was here. Really here." Bridge says. "That was him, on Thursday, wasn't it?" He asks. "I thought I was imagining things."

Parker nodded, looking guilty. "I should have said something, but he'd just gotten there the day before. And you were so beat up, and-- it just didn't seem like the right moment. A lot of things happened to him while he was gone." She sighed. "I had no idea the Island was going to mess with us again so soon."

"Vampire-him kind of almost bit me." Bridge tells Parker.

Parker gaped, then rubbed her eyes. "Ohhhh-kay. Things that aren't automatically obvious from the podcast." She winced. "Have you seen him since then?"

"Nuh-uh," Bridge shakes his head. "I'm kind of afraid to," he admits, biting his lip.

"Why?" Parker asked quietly. "Because of this weekend? Or everything else?"

"What if I go and he's not really there?" Bridge says. And even as he says it, he knows it's stupid.

"Not where? Not where he's staying?" Parker asked. "Or... not really Xander?"

"Both," Bridge admits. "If I go, and he's not there, or it's not him, then that makes it... final, you know? If I don't, then..."

"Then you'll wonder. And wonder." Parker studied him a second. "It's the guy who left. Who's not exactly the same. But it's as close as you can get to seeing him again. Not in six or seven years, but now, Bridge."

"Yeah," Bridge says, folding his arms down on the desk and propping his chin on them. "It's just- complicated, now."

"Ohhh, yeah." Parker patted his arm. "I know. But if you put it off too long-- he might have to leave, Bridge. He's never said if he's back to stay." She cocked an eyebrow at him. "But if you want back-up, you know anyone here would go with you. In case it was too weird."

"I think, when I go, it's something I have to do alone," he says. "But- thanks."

"No problem." Parker pushed the pie toward him. "Eat. Think. Join the monarchy. It'll all look better in a little while."
