Lifestyle course: Essay for next week
[Remember that there are still five or six vacancies in this class -- go here to sign up.]
We need a topic for next week. As you know, the structure established for the class means that you write a hundred-word essay on the week's topic, being sure to submit it by Saturday evening ... and then we come together as a group on Monday to discuss our findings.
I try to chose topics which, once mastered, will help the students to cope better with their lifestyle. I try to choose topics which will promote careful research and lively debate. Most of all, I try to choose topics which will be of interest to the students who are signed up.
This week's topic is sex. I'm a little baffled by the interest that this topic engenders, but it does seem to be curiously popular and lots of sentient beings claim it plays a central role in any measure of how well their lifestyle is going. For these reasons it's sensible to make it a part of this course.
So one hundred words on this week's topic, please, in a comment below. Please try to explain just how issues surrounding this topic affect your lifestyle -- both positively and negatively.
A brief description of the position regarding ages of consent in your usual home may be helpful, but it won't be included in the word count.

As for consent, well, it seems that my family starts young and keeps on at it, at least it seems that way. We are a very long lived family, my father, for instance, has been on the throne for centuries now, and has fathered more children than we even know about. I am sure he started young. My brother Random had a bit of an indescretion when he was a young man, though nobody talks about that much. I have no idea how old he was when that happened.
By the way Professor, I am concerned about your state of health. I hope you have escaped these Zombies.

People in my world usually start having sex around 15 years old.

Sex is what happens when two adults give in to their base animal passions. People often talk about it within the bounds of love, but that's just a pretext to disguise the bitter truth. Say, for example, that your father dies, and within two months of his death your mother and uncle remarry and begin having noisy sex at night. Where is the "love"? Where is the "passion"? What loyalty to the dead is there when carnal desires go unabated? Sex is what makes us nothing more than mere animals, by ignoring the purer for the base.
In Denmark, the age of consent is 15, teachers are permitted to have relationships with students as long as both are over 18, and prostitution is legalized, but all of it is base indulgement.

The legal age in LA is 18...but really if it was lowered to oh...say 14...nobody would be surprised.
Sorry for the extreme lateness again professor, it won't happen again.
